We have two new samples to show.
Lynda finished this a while ago and we would forget to go out on a nice day to get pictures. This is Joji’s The Frank Shawl. It is gorgeous. The yarn is Madelinetosh Merino Light. I changed the colours slightly from Joji’s version - it is kit #11. My contrast is Saffron. We have kits in the colours that Joji used.
You can purchase the pattern on Joji’s website.
A very easy and stunning shawl, inspired by the work of artist Frank Stella, this design is a study in geometry.
Triangular pieces are assembled together to create a spectacular wrap with a unique shape that is both beautiful and stunning to wear, with many tips, all in different shades.
I played with a gradient of grays, and my favorite color, gold, to give this shawl a vintage vibe.
The Frank Shawl is constructed as 3 triangular sections, joined together when working the last one of them.
Important: You will use every last yard of color 1. If you knit loosely and normally use more yarn than most patterns call for, I would recommend getting a second skein in this color.
Lynda did not use the extra skein for the shawl. It will totally depend on your tension.
We knit the shawl in Rowan Felted Colour in the colours that Brian knit his in. Normally I would use different colours but
- I love the colours that Brian used
- Many of the colours of Felted Tweed Colour have multiple colours in a ball. I felt that the main colour should be more solid and the contrast a stripey colour.
If you want a different main colour I might suggest a colour of Felted Tweed and then Felted Tweed Colour for the contrast. See all the colours.
This crescent shape shawl uses stocking stitch with a garter ridge, stocking stitch stripes, short rows with a garter ridge and a pretty diamond lace pattern. Although this design uses 200 grams of double knit yarn, it will sit around your shoulders as light as a cloud.
Lynn had on one of her Shifts today - I’m not sure if I have shown this one.

This is a new cowl designed by Hannah Mann. It is called Baroque Bounty and you can purchase the pattern on Ravelry.Inspired by decadent Baroque art from the 16th century, as well as Baroque Pop from the 1960’s. This lavish cowl shifts the focus from fluid, filigree colorwork to a structured flower motif. Worked in the round and seamed closed at the end for no visible floats and an invisible join.
Hannah used Spincycle Versus with Spincycle Nocturne (the same as Dyed in the Wool).
I realize that not everyone wants to knit with Spincycle so I made some combinations with Patagonia and Zauberball Starke 6.
One ball is Starke 6 is definitely enough. I think you will make it with one skein of Patagonia. It will be close.

Charoite with 2095
Violet with 2427
