Design Details
Mix Tape is all about making your stash the star. The side-to-side construction creates long vertical stripes with beautiful drape, while alternating garter and stockinette stitch add subtle texture and keep the knitting relaxing and wonderfully rhythmic.
The colors you choose become your own playlist, so every Mix Tape is one-of-a-kind.
Finish the shoulder seams to suit your style. Wear Mix Tape as a classic tee, leave the neckline wider for an off-the-shoulder look, or easily reseam it later if your style changes.

Construction Overview
Mix Tape Tee is worked side-to-side, a remix of traditional sweater construction that creates its signature vertical stripes. One color at a time in simple garter and stockinette stitch, the knitting is wonderfully straightforward with minimal finishing.
You’ll begin by knitting one sleeve in the round. From there, you’ll work the back flat with shoulder and neckline shaping before placing those stitches on hold. Next, you’ll knit the front in the same way before joining the live stitches with Kitchener stitch. Finally, seam the shoulders, choosing either a traditional shoulder width or a wider seam for an off-the-shoulder look.
Yarn Notes
Mix Tape was designed for the yarn tucked away in your stash: mini skeins, leftovers, advent calendars, handspun, speckles, solids, tonals. If it’s fingering weight, it’s going in.
Any fingering-weight yarn with good stitch definition will work beautifully. Mix dyers, mix bases, repeat favorite colors, or never use one twice. Every Mix Tape is one-of-a-kind.

August 2026 is a vibrant, juicy blend of strawberry watermelon pinky reds and tropical, citrus-y yellow. Pink lemonade!
This is the perfect colour for the hot summer we’ve been having.
I’m early today because there is TV to watch when I get home. I’m binge watching The Blacklist. Beth and I watched season 1 but didn’t go any further. I’ve started back at the beginning to make sure I catch everything. I want to get through season 1 quickly so I can move onto new.
