From now until Monday October 28th at 8pm EST Rowan Felted Tweed will be on sale. All colours are currently in stock.

Purchase 1-10 balls and receive 10% off - no code needed. The discount is good when shopping online and in the store.

Purchase 11 or more balls (all on one order) and receive 15% off. You don’t have to order all balls in the same colour
My Snowflower is knit with Rowan Felted Tweed and the yarn is a joy to knit with.
If you are looking for patterns take a look at Ravelry. I have these sorted by Most Projects - you can change that to New to Ravelry or Hot Right Now.
There are great patterns for Felted Tweed in Rowan Magazine 76.

This is the Easy Fold Poncho from Churchmouse Yarns. You can knit the Poncho with 5 balls of Felted Tweed.

Our Easy Folded Poncho transcends the trends. It's easy to knitjust one long stockinette rectangleeasy to finish, and easy to throw on. Our classic poncho is shown bottom row, center on Kate without the original cowl neck. You can make the poncho with the original cowl neck with just one additional skein of Felted Tweed. We created our “v.2” version here by using two additional skeins of Felted Tweed to add an open collar in a pressed broad rib to give the original poncho a whole new look.
Poncho without cowl: 5 skeins Rowan Felted Tweed (191 yds/175m each); shown in color 153 Phantom.
Or approx. 840 yds/768 m of an equivalent DK-weight yarn.

Original Cowl: 1 skein Felted Tweed or approx. 140 yds/128m of an equivalent DK-weight yarn.
"v.2" Collar: 2 skeins Felted Tweed or approx. 215 yds/197m of an equivalent DK-weight yarn.

Note: To customize collar height, add or subtract 27 yds/25m for each 1"/2.5cm of adjusted length.

You can purchase the pattern on the Churchmouse website. There is a free download for the v.2 Collar directions.

This is the Lucky Stripe Poncho from Churchmouse. You can purchase the pattern for this on their website.
6-color version: 6 skeins Rowan Felted Tweed (191 yds/175m each). Shown on cover right in 1 skein each of Colors 170, 216, 145, 159, 153, and 211.
10-color version: 10 skeins Rowan Felted Tweed (191 yds/175m each). Shown on cover left in 1 skein each of Colors 201, 200, 222, 198, 181, 213, 204, 203, 202, and 214.

Churchmouse loves Felted Tweed as much as I do. This is the Sideways Tee.

This deceptively simple top is cleverly knit from the center out to each side, rather than from top to bottom or vice versa. A modern pivot to a familiar style! A tapered shape allows for plenty of ease at the bust, while providing a relaxed and flattering bottom edge at hip length.

We’ve knit the Sideways Tee in Rowan Felted Tweed—a warm, woolly favorite. This fiber is on the finer side of DK-weight and blends merino wool with alpaca and viscose. As a result, it has softness and spring, drape and luster—and so many beautiful color options! Felted Tweed is perfect for a tee with a little more warmth and structure.

The Showcase Showdown is about to start. I need to pay attention so I’m going to say good evening.

Happy Thanksgiving

I hope everyone was able to have a great day with family and friends. We had a very quiet weekend.

Emma’s Smalliday Sets have arrived.

“Smalliday Sets” are our version of advent sets. We call them “Smallidays” because the idea is you open one “Small” a day during the holidays! Each mini skein is individially wrapped and meant to be kept secret until the first color is opened December 1, and another each day after for 24 days.

2024 Smalliday Sets are available in our Practically Perfect Sock or Simply Spectacular DK base. Each kit includes:

  • 24 individually enveloped and numbered “Smalls” in either base. All 24 colors are new and were developed for this set!
  • an Emma’s Yarn sticker
  • a Love + Leche “Sweet Sheep” Lotion Bar in a NEW custom wintery scent
  • a super cute set of Birdie Parker stitch markers
  • scannable QR code insert with knit and crochet pattern suggestions that will work perfectly for the colors we’ve developed
  • everything packaged in a HAND-DYED “Emma’s Yarn” cotton Work+Shelter project bag.

It was hard but I haven’t opened mine yet. I don’t like surprises and want to see how great the colours are. My kit is being packed away until December 1st.

Here are a few patterns I would look at if I was going to start knitting this weekend.

This is 24 Skeins Go Crazy by Marin Bulin (pattern purchased on Ravelry)
„24 SKEINS GO CRAZY“ is an adaption of my METRO LINES WRAP – a multi-coloured rectangle that plays with woven garter bands. But instead of working a simple rectangle, you take it to the next level => you make it a zig zag pattern by working strategically placed increases and decreases you weave your bands through later. This design works perfectly for any yarn advent calendar, 24 miniskeins of your choice with at least 73m/80 yards per skein or the same amount of fingering weight yarn.

Ambah O’Brien’s Solstice Wrap (pattern purchased on Ravelry)

This is Fade into Advent from Lisa K. Ross (pattern purchased on Ravelry).

There will be new patterns coming at the beginning of December as well.

I spent the day knitting and am on chart 6. If I can hurry and get through week 6 tonight and tomorrow I can start the current week.

Ice cream party

Now back to my knitting

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Finally a Finished Project

I have two finished projects. These are the Traveler Cowl (pattern purchased on Ravelry) knit with Spincycle Dyed in the Wool. The top cowl was knit with 3 skeins of Ranunculus and the bottom cowl was knit with 3 skeins of Light-Years.

I can’t take all the credit. Alex blocked these and sewed up the back seam for me.

Kits for The North Star Cowl are on their way to us and we should see them next week.

4 new colours of Kureyon arrived today. These are available online and in the store.

Flotte Christmas Sock yarn arrived today.
We (Alex and I) were busy unpacking boxes today and there will be more tomorrow. Malabrigo, Emma’s, Addi and Crazy Zauberball. We thought we were getting the store in order and now it’s a messy again. Thankfully Lynn is coming to lend a hand tomorrow.

It’s time to feed the dogs and then Beth should be home with dinner. I’m spending the evening watching TV and knitting. I’m on a mission to get caught up on Snowflower.

I asked dad if he wanted brownies or muffins. He couldn’t decide so we mixed brownies before dinner and will make muffins after dinner.
