Meet the new colours of Highland. Across the top is Topaz. From the left - Black Cherry, Peacock and Hyacinth.

I put together a few combinations for Andrea Mowry’s Throwover or Throwback.

Any three of the four new colours would look great in the sweater or cardigan. I used Silver Mist for the background but Oatmeal would be great too. Or use all four of the new colours - anyone of them would make a great main colour.

I started a new project last night. Ambah O’Brien’s ADVENTurous Wrap (pattern purchased on Ravelry).

The Adventurous Wrap is made up of 2 top-down triangles. They are both knit first, ending with half of the last row bound off and the other half held on a set of needles. These stitches are then bound off together to join the triangles and create the wrap.

I am using two Party of Five kits to start the shawl. Ambah changes colours every few rows but I don’t want to do that because of the endless number of ends to sew in. I am going to knit the first two mini skeins until I run out. Then I will do the next two and continue doing this until the skeins are finished. I think that my triangles will end up bigger. We’ll see what happens as I start knitting. The next triangle could be the same two kits in reverse order or it could be two new kits. We’ll see what happens. It might not sound inviting but I think you will see my plan as I get to the next skeins. Unfortunately I’m ripping out what I did last night. When I was carrying the yarn up the side I held it in front - I know better than that. Since there wasn’t a lot completed it’s better to take it out and start again rather than look at it and be mad as I’m knitting the rest of the shawl. 

The pattern is very easy to follow and easy to memorize. Once you get going there are only two rows to the pattern. One has increases and one is just knit across.

I will try really hard to get the Party of Five kits online tomorrow. We were busy today with box two from Harrisville and box two from Hedgehog. Box three from Hedgehog should be coming tomorrow.

Spark

Ms UPS came this morning with three boxes. Two were from Harrisville with more Highland. I put Ebony with Dream State Ruination for Spark from Andrea Mowry.

This is Periwinkle with Ruination. Ebony is very safe but Periwinkle is calling my name.

I love a good shawl collar cardi! This bottom up, raglan cardigan gives a classic look a twist with all-over colorwork. Spark is knit in the round and then steeked and finished off with a garter shawl collar and cozy belt to keep out those wintry winds!

The last box was from Biches & Buches. More Le Petit Lambswool and Le Petit Silk & Mohair.

Mr. Canada Post brought in a box from Soak. We are restocked on large bottles.

You might have noticed a bottle of Soak in Sarah’s pictures yesterday. We all use Soak when blocking/washing our hand knits.

I placed another order with Uschitita on the weekend and we could see it in September. There will be great colours on Singles as well as Steffi’s Kidsilk Lace in matching colours.

I know that I will need Birds of a Feather in Eyes Wide Shut.

We will have more kits for Orianna in the original colours.

In the past I have mentioned weird dreams. Last night’s dream was about Cathy and Sarah. They started a radio program about knitting. Not a podcast. Not something you would watch online. It was a radio program. Where did that come from???

Timber

Lynn made the Timber Cardigan (Pattern purchased on Ravelry) with Highland and it’s beautiful.

A shipment is coming next week from Harrisville with more Highland. There are some colours that we’ve been waiting a really long time for.

Deliveries

Rita shared these mittens on Instagram last night and I emailed her right away to ask if I could share with you. They are incredible.

Rita is addicted to making Smaug mittens (pattern purchased on Ravelry).

They were made with Hedgehog twist sock in the Villain colourway and Sweet Georgia tough love sock in cauldron. They were such a fun knit and I can’t stop making them!

Lynda ordered a beautiful bag of Harrisville Highland and picked it up today. I asked what she was making and she is doing Andrea Mowry's Throwover (pattern purchased on Ravelry). I made up a few kits today.

Andrea used Dream State in her sweater but I went with all Harrisville for these kits.

There were other changes made to the kit page of the website today. New kits were added, colours were added to existing kits and I changed how some kits were being displayed.

I was in the store very early this morning packing boxes. This isn't all of them. There was another pile. There will be happy knitters and crocheters next week when Mr. or Ms. Canada Post comes to the door.

Dad and Beth have been receiving parcels too. We bought dad some new work pants and they fit so we ordered more. Two packages for him. Beth has started into Lego. She's had two different shipments. Even Boscoe has shipments - dog toys and treats. Nothing for me. I went online to shop. I don't need shoes or clothes or fabric or yarn 😋I collect decorative jugs for our house in Myrtle Beach. When I am there I visit Pottery Barn, Pier One, Kirklands and Home Goods (like Home Sense here). I have a good collection but I wanted a delivery. I went on Wayfair and picked out the perfect jug. Just before I bought it I remembered that I have pictures of the jugs in Myrtle Beach.

There are a few duplicates. I really like the white jug (left above and right below). I like the white jug so much it was the one in my cart on Wayfair. I emptied my cart and no delivery for me. 😂

The pity party is over now. I'll be happy with yarn shipments for the time being. There is one coming from Biches & Buches next week.

Right now UPS says Monday but I'm going to stick with sometime next week.

We woke up this morning to find out that we are allowed to continue selling online. Our physical store will be closed until we are allowed to open but we can ship yarn. Please visit our website to place your order. We will continue shipping every day.

Tara shared a picture today of a beautiful cardigan she knit with Arranmore Light. The pattern is called Mariechen and you can purchase it on Ravelry.

Love the feel of this yarn. It’s very soft, with no bristles or prickles for being 80% wool (+ 10% cashmere and 10% silk). It almost feels more like soft cotton with tweedy bits. 

This is being knit for a sister that would prefer things to not be overly warm or heavy. This yarn should suit well. The airiness of this yarn makes it easy to hold the whole project (knit from the neck down usually means a lot of weight to hold on to) without straining the wrists. 

The pattern is very straight forward so far (I’m past any tricky parts) and well explained.

Ms. Canada Post picked up a lot of boxes this afternoon. There are still more that I didn't get finished until after she was here. There are going to be a lot of happy knitters in the next few days.

I didn't even think to take any yarn pictures before leaving today. All I could think about was getting home and taking my shoes off. I walked 4km in the store today.

My Next Project

Harrisville Highland arrived today and it is happy in it's home. 

This caused Dream State to move.

Which caused Woolstok to move.

I'm not starting tonight but here is what came home with me. It is going to be another Throwback. This time I am going to knit it in the round and steek. More on that later this week because there is knit-a-long forming in my head.

My phone rang this afternoon and it was Atenti calling to tell me that my bags are on the way.

I love my Atenti bags. They are very well made and the fabric choices are amazing!

We also have a package on the way with more pompoms.

Icy Blue has been out of stock for quite some time. I'm happy that they will be in our shipment.

There are three new colours coming.

These should be in the store in about a week.

A small package came today from Hedgehog Fibres. It is goodies for our Food Drive Basket.

I remembered to bring my skein of Le Petit Lambswool home but I'm not in the mood to go upstairs to wind the skein. I'm going to work on Hinterland while we watch Love It or List It from last night. Love It or List It with Hilary Farr who designed the fabric that Atenti used for this bag. It is in our order. Actually, three are in the order.
