Beautiful Bags

Doreen came in wearing her Throwback. She did an amazing job. She chose Cascade 220 for her cardigan. I love the colours!
It fits her perfectly. She knit most of it in the arena watching her granddaughter figure skate. She said it was easy (except the few rows when you are carrying three colours - I hated those rows too).

Alex finished her Nightshift.

Alex used Noro Akari. One ball each of 1 and 9.

She knit the shawl on 5mm needles (like the pattern asks for) and said that she would use a 4.5mm needle if she was going to make it again. It is a touch on the loose side - nothing bad but it could be a smidge tighter.

She had enough yarn to add 20 rows to the shawl. Bigger is better.

Mr. Canada Post brought us a box from Atenti this morning. It will be hard to share these with you. I want need want them all.

The Atenti Stampede Backsac - A matte flocked velvety pattern on a distressed faux leather. Double adjustable ultra-suede straps allow the backpack to be worn as a backpack, a shoulder bag or on the wrist while knitting on the go. A combination of a loop and an internal magnetic, allows the correct amount of closure. Roomy with an oval base 11” x 5.5” and a height of 13” and fully lined in water resistant taffeta. Inside are a zippered pocket and a divided pocket with a cell phone slot.
This is the Pink Sunshine Backsac.

Lynn put the Backsac on so you could see the size.

Rowan sent two great kits for the Food Drive gift baskets.
The kit has the pattern for Nether - a pair of fingerless gloves knit in cashmere.

We purchase our Knitter's Pride needles from N. Jefferson. They sent us a set of interchangeable needles.

Moving Day

I came to work this morning but didn't see many customers. This led to a lot of tidying and moving yarn.
Filatura di Crosa Zara is a beautiful yarn but what a pain to display. The balls fall apart. They lived in the glass shelving but I decided they might sit better here. Small problem. Tosh DK lived here.
Tosh DK moved - Sirdar Cotton DK used to live here.
Cotton DK moved to Zara's home.
Hedgehog Merino DK looks great on the shelf.
I went through Tosh DK and pulled skeins of discontinued colours. There are 1-4 skeins of each colour.
Colours include
-Laurel
-Mandala
-Odyssey
-Opaline
-Mill Pond
-Grenadine
-Faded Parka
-Rain Water

Are you thinking about making The Hipster? Rush in. These are on sale for $25 a skein (regular $34).
How about a Linen Stitch Scarf? You need 3 colours - 1 skein each.

Noro Kumo has a new home as well.

It's 2:30 and I'm at home. The weather turned bad and I closed the store at 1:30. The roads were not good - I hope everyone stayed safe today.
Now the dilemma. Do I knit or do I work??

Well, knitting won. I am almost finished the yoke on The Throwback.
I totally changed everything for my Throwback. I'm much happier with this. The pattern shows now. And there is enough Salty Dog left to finish Nightshift.

Survivor is finished and now it is time for The Masked Singer.

New Yarn

Today has been a day of shipments.
Surprise - we have new Tough Love Sock from SweetGeorgia. These have me thinking about Easter.
The Merino DK from Hedgehog is awesome. I can see another Hipster in my future.

We received new spring/summer yarns today which led us to moving things around. (Ripping the store apart.)
All the double knitting weight cotton/linen/silk blends live together now. This makes shopping much easier.

These two patterns are knit with Pollock from Juniper Moon. If you purchase the yarn we can give you the patten for free.

Pollock is 55% Silk and 45% Linen and knits to a double knitting tension.

The yarn has been added to the website.

Our gift baskets for the Food Drive are overflowing. And there is more to come.

It looks like we might be closing early tomorrow. More snow - YUCK!!!

Snowfall with total amounts of about 15 cm is expected.

Significant snowfall of near 15 cm on tap Wednesday.

Snow is expected to reach the Golden Horseshoe early Wednesday morning and will continue through the day before ending in the evening.

Many areas will receive near 15 centimetres of snow by evening. Locally higher amounts up to 20 cm are possible at a locale or two near Western Lake Ontario.

It appears that the heaviest snow will fall in the afternoon, resulting in a significant impact on the commute home late in the day. Motorists should allow extra time to reach their destination.

Now it's time to knit!

We have four new Potlucks.

The Throwback
Joji's Fading Point and Slow Curves
We love Ravelry but a lot of knitters want a pattern nicely printed on cardstock.

I almost forgot a picture. Alex is working away on her So Faded sweater.
I have been clicking away at my keyboard for hours now. It's time to stop and knit.
