Atenti Bags

Just before I left I placed an order for Atenti bags. We have the following Hope Baskets and Caddies coming which are brand new fabrics. My guess is 6 weeks but they could be here sooner. There will also be a restock on older fabrics.

I wrote posts for this week before I left. They are all knitting related. I will try and write while I’m away but sometimes it doesn’t work out. The day gets away from me. My dad told me that I have to send them pictures every day to show how much knitting I have accomplished. He is becoming a drill sergeant. 

I forgot to set this post to publish so I’m going to add to it. I flew into LA this afternoon and I’m in my hotel room in Long Beach. I’m staying at the same hotel we would stay at when we came here for TNNA. It brings back great memories.

I knit a bit on the plane. I was so tired that there was some napping. I’m almost finished the first two skeins of this Inclination Shawl. I started this on the train and didn’t get very far.

Tomorrow I get on a ship that is heading up to Vancouver for the Alaskan cruise season. On Sunday I will fly from Vancouver into Hamilton. Dad and I did this flight and it so convenient. I can call Beth when I have my suitcase and she is at the terminal within 5 minutes.

It is almost 8pm on the west coast and I’m crawling into bed. I love to fly but today’s flight seemed to take forever and I’m exhausted.

New Fabrics

Atenti has added more fabrics for spring so I have added more bags to my order.

I ordered new bags from Atenti today.

The new Zodiac color collection for Rios will be here soon.

12 new colors inspired by the zodiac signs and their interpretation. A collection created by Flor, our in-house designer, and her passion for astrology. Each color was crafted using key aspects of the personality popularly attributed to every sign. These were taken into mood boards and translated into a color palette that was then transferred onto the skeins.

Lynn was in with me today and we started moving around Rios. There was no rhyme or reason to how the colours were on the shelf. I’m making them look pretty.

This is just the start. I have some work to do tomorrow.

Pour day is the best day for my dad. He loves concrete. He should be here soon for some quick dinner and then home for a shower and bed. Then Beth and I will be watching The Amazing Race and Survivor. There is no way I’m going to be finished Clue 3 by tomorrow but I’m going to get a few more rows done tonight.

Blocking

Ms. Canada Post dropped off a box this morning with new Atenti Hope Baskets. 

These are so new that Atenti hasn’t photographed all of the fabrics yet. These are online to order and they are on display in the store.

I wish I could say that I was blocking but it’s not me. Janice finished her Alpine Bloom.

I can’t wait to see her wearing the finished sweater.

Fred’s first boat ride. He is on the floor between Bosco and Jackson. He is wearing the life jacket that Jackson wore when he was a puppy.

A wet Fred. He went off the side of the dock. Jackson was in the water and he wanted to get Jackson. It was his first time swimming.

Heading out for after dinner fishing.

Beth said that Boscoe and Jackson are so happy to be back at the cottage.

Smallidays

We received the first of two boxes from Hedgehog this morning. There are 3 new colours of Twist Sock.

Puppy Love

80% Blue Faced Leicester wool and 20% nylon, superwash. Hard-wearing fingering weight yarn with a high twist in the ply. Great stitch definition, best suited for sock knitting. That tight twist will keep precious hand knit socks in shape wash after wash after wash. Soft, yet durable and machine washable. Best of both worlds! Sold in approx. 100g skeins/365m.

Emma’s Smalliday kits are available online for preorder. You have two options - pay in full for a discounted price or put down a deposit and pay the balance when the kits are ready to ship.

I am very excited for these. I am definitely getting one for myself in fingering weight but there could be a DK weight kit in my future as well.

Emma’s mom (Laura) designed this shawl for the 2021 Smalliday set. I really like the shawl and think that this might be what I make. But you never know because Ambah also has great patterns and she will bring out something this fall. Plus there is the new Laura Nelkin pattern coming.

It’s bed time at my house. Dad and Beth are leaving at 6am for the cottage. Three men from work are driving up a trailer full of furniture and housewares. A barge is meeting them to bring the trailer across the lake. I’m not going until Sunday morning. By that time everything should be in order. LOL. They are going to be too busy fishing.
