Mr. Canada Post also brought in a box from Dream in Color. We received 17 colours of Jilly with Cashmere.

Jilly with Cashmere is luxuriously sumptuous and soft! The colors come to life. Every stitch knitted with Jilly with Cashmere is a dream, making only the most magnificent of accessories and garments.

I had a difficult time choosing because Spincycle Yarns has so many great colour combinations. I tried to make sure that I had colours for everyone. It's hard to believe but not everyone wants to knit with purple :)

Day Two

I was up very early this morning. I think I'm still a bit high on yarn fumes. I've been out for a walk to get a tea and it's still too early to head to the show so I'm going to start today's post.

A wall of Cheshire Cat mini skein kits.

Frabjous Fibers has a new sock yarn coming out this fall. It is a wool/nylon blend called Mary Ann. 85% fine merino and 15% nylon. There are 435m (475 yards) in a skein.

Dirty Harry - a new colour from madelinetosh.

Freia Fibers introduced 4 new colours for fall.

It's finally 10am so I'm heading for day two of buying.

My last stop of the day was to visit the ladies from Mountain Colors. There is a brand new yarn called Silk Dance. 10 awesome colours are on the way to us.

I'm back in the room after a long day of shopping and then dinner out. The hockey game is on while I'm writing. It's weird to be watching hockey and not listening to the Canadian announcers. I don't think I'll make it to the end of the game - my body says sleep and it's a long drive home tomorrow.

Mr. Canada Post brought in a box from Mountain Colors this morning. Lots of new, fun colours of Twizzlefoot.

53% superwash merino

We used 3 skeins of Twizzlefoot for this amazing shawl.

Pattern: Kaersta (purchased on Ravelry)

Lynn used the leftovers from the shawl to make a great pair of socks.

There were new Perspective Kits in the box as well.

I'm going to get pictures of the new kits at home tonight. I've taken a bunch in the store and outside but they aren't doing the colours justice.

It's a day of good and bad. The good news - our box arrived from Mountain Colors. The bad - our boxes from Blue Sky Fibers are somewhere in the Canada Post system. Hopefully the strike/lock out doesn't last long and the boxes arrive soon.

We are getting sod on the front yard of our house. We've had possession for 15 months so it's about time. That is the good. The bad. I have been coming to work early for a few weeks and watering the garden every morning. With the hot weather and no rain the plants were suffering. I have them growing nicely and my daylillies were about to bloom. There were beautiful blooms coming on a few hostas as well. Deer came through last night and ate all the blooms. All of them. I was so sad.

The store will be closed tomorrow for Canada Day but I'll be back on Saturday from 10-4. Enjoy the day!

GAP-tastic

I'm finished and I love it. Just in time for the colder weather that is supposed to be coming.

The GAP-tastic cowl is an easy knit you’ll want to make again and again! Mr. Canada Post brought in a box from Mountain Colors this morning. It was full of Twizzlefoot.

There are colours that we haven't carried before and the colours that we used in our shawl.

Yarn: Twizzlefoot - 2 skeins of Summerdale, 1 skein of Poppy Trail

There was enough yarn left over from the shawl that Lynn is making a pair of socks. The first sock is blue with an orange cuff, heel and toes and the other sock is opposite. We didn't think there was enough to do two blue socks. Reversing the colours makes a cool pair of socks and helps with second sock syndrome. It feels like you are starting a new pair. :)

Now to pick out some yarn to take home. One project done means that I get to start something new tonight.

New Store Sample

There is a new sample in the store.

Pattern: Kaersta Shawl (pattern purchased on Ravelry)
Yarn: Mountain Colors Twizzlefoot - the sample is two skeins of Summerdale and one skein of Poppy Trail.
Needles: 4.5mm

Worked from the small tip to the wide fan the Kaersta shawl makes use of the wonderful colors of Twizzlefoot yarn from Mountain Colors.
This shawl can be knit in 1-3 colors.
You may use a single color with 2 skeins of the same color of Twizzlefoot, or the pictured 2 color version with 2 skeins of 1 color and 1 skein of a contrasting color, or 3 different colors using 1 skein of each color.

Twizzlefoot is 53% superwash merino, 17% domestic wool, 17% silk and 13% nylon. There are 410m (450 yards) on a skein.

We are out of the Summerdale but more has been ordered and should be here by the end of the month. We have skeins of pretty colours in the store right now.

The yarn is great for socks too. 

The String Quintet kits are arriving late this afternoon.

The kit contains 5 mini skeins of Shepherd Sock with a total of 489m (535 yards) in the package. The kits will sell for $52.50.

We have copies of the pattern for Isn't It Romantic. These patterns are not available online, only with the purchase of the yarn.

I took this picture of the Twizzlefoot knit up when I was at TNNA in June. The ply of the yarn gives a great tweed effect. Something a bit different.
