Biches & Buches

I made a quick decision today and we have a new yarn on the way. Fingers crossed it will be here by the end of next week.
Le Petit Lambswool from Biches & Buches. 18 beautiful colours.
it is a pure lambswool from a family-owned fiber mill in scotland. the wool is rustic and soft at the same time, in 33 different shades, the thread is thin and sturdy, the wool is fully scoured, the bands are handwritten by caroline. a beautiful quality, presented in a way that feels like home.
technical info: 50g - 4ply - 248meters / 270yards – fingering / light worsted weight.
tension/gauge : 23/24 sts to 10 cm/4”
needle size 3mm / US2.5 / UK11 - 3.5mm / US4 / UK9.5.
what is lambswool ? it is actually the first shearing of a sheep, considered high-grade of wool.

I ordered this colour to do a sweater for myself. The ladies at Spincycle use this yarn with Dyed in the Wool and have inspired me. Take a look at all the awesome projects on Ravelry using Le Petit Lambswool. For some reason the formatting of my post has gone a bit crazy but I don't have time to fix it. I need to knit 😘

Did you know that we are the only store in Canada that sells Namaste knitting bags? We will be bringing some to the Fair.

We won't be wearing our Throwbacks at the show but they will be on display and we will have kits.

I have four more rows on my sleeve cuff and then I'm blocking. My Guthrie should be soaking in Soak tonight. Which scent this time?

Unleash: Infused with apple and pomegranate. Unleash your creative juices with a sweet and spicy scent you'd follow anywhere.
This is a limited edition re-release and we have it in stock. Unleash first debuted 10 years ago.

It's the opening night of the NFL season - fall is here.

A Day of Boxes

I looked at my calendar today and it is already the end of March. Where has the month gone? Where has the year gone? I need to finish my March newsletter. That is tomorrow's job.

Our Spring/Summer hours start on Monday.

Tuesday - Friday 10-5:30
Saturday 10-4
Sunday Closed
Monday Closed
I knew that Wannietta tried on her cardigan yesterday but I didn't see it. I did last night on Instagram. It's looking good!!

Mr. UPS brought us three boxes from Namaste. The website has been updated.

Mr. UPS left and came back half an hour later. He found another box for us.
Kim Hargreaves newest pattern book was in the box.
Earthen tones give a seasonal glow, from kissed shades of sand, copper and tan to the faded hues of white and stone. Containing twelve elegant, classic designs for women by Kim Hargreaves.

Mr. Canada Post brought us a box from GarnStories. Oh my. So pretty. The yarn has been photographed and is available in the store and on the website.

We've watched Survivor and I worked on my Throwback. The pattern asks for 9" of stocking stitch before starting the ribbing. I'm at 6" (why isn't it going faster?) and will knit at least 11". I want my cardigan longer. The great thing about knitting from the top down is that I can try it on and see how I like it.

Fall Cleaning

I'm leaving tomorrow morning for a quick trip to Myrtle Beach. Mom and dad are there right now and they like it when we visit. And the ticket was very, very cheap. Now I'm trying to get the store in order for Cathy and Lynn. I know where everything is but they can't always get inside my head to figure out my filing system. While tidying, I found a box from Namaste with the Bigga' Buddy.

The Bigga' Buddy case is an oversized version of our Better Buddy case; it features hidden magnetized interior walls to keep your metal items in place, a removable interior divider, and is made of vegan animal-friendly faux leather. Perfect for quilters, crocheters, knitters, and general Namasterians alike! Contrast stitching, solid construction, and snap button closure; when size matters- you need a Bigga' Buddy!

COLORS:
Caribbean Blue, Pumpkin Spice, Raspberry, Red, Eggplant

MATERIALS:
Animal-friendly faux leather

SIZE:
9" L x 4" W x 2" H
PRICE: $45
I think this will make a great Christmas present for Beth. She has her knitting stuff everywhere.

Yesterday I showed the new scarf kits that are coming. There will also be a baby throw kit coming very soon.

Now I need to figure out my knitting. I have the first clue to The Doodler. I think I will get that finished so I need something else. I have an Auburn Wave on the needles but it is almost finished. That will take up too much room in my carry on bag. Maybe I need to start something else?

Happy Thanksgiving

I hope all our friends in the US are having a great Thanksgiving Day. There is no turkey in my near future but I will be enjoying football today :) And knitting. Clue #3 is almost done. Just two more rows and then onto #4.

An order just came in from Lantern Moon. Great Christmas gift ideas. Cat lovers - there is a new tape measure.
 Crocheted stitch markers.

So cute. What a great stocking stuffer.

We also received yarn from Classic Elite - more colours of Fresco. I love Classic Elite Yarns but their colour palettes are huge. There is no way that we can order in 10 skeins of every colour. I would love to but there is a small space issue in the store. They came up with mixed packs of Fresco and we received 2 skeins each in many colours.

Fresco is a smooth and even 3-ply sport weight yarn. The plies are twisted together tightly enough to make a firm, springy yarn, but not so tightly that the yarn loses its lofty, soft hand. The fiber blend—wool (for warmth and strength), alpaca (for loft and sheen), and a bit of angora (to provide a soft halo)—makes a yarn that’s warm, soft, and slightly fuzzy.
Fresco is 60% wool, 30% baby alpaca and 10% angora.

There are many Classic Elite Web-Letters with patterns for Fresco. I love these mittens. You need 2 skeins - 1 of each colour.

Download the pattern...

This cowl is knit in 2 skeins of Fresco.

2 skeins will also make this great slouch hat.

When I blogged last week about receiving an order from Namaste I forgot to add in that we now have the Harlow bag in Slate Gray.
We're home and the football game is on. I must say that I am enjoying the score of the game. I managed to finish Clue #3 just before leaving the store. One more game to go tonight so I should get a few rows done on Clue #4

The Poppins bag in Raspberry is back in stock too.

Tomorrow morning I'm going on a road trip. Beth, Bev, Bev's daughter in law and I are heading to Troy, Michigan (just outside of Detroit) for a few days of shopping. I hope to blog while I'm away but in case I don't have time (there are a lot of malls to visit) then I will be back Monday night.
