Lykke needle restock

Mr. UPS came in early this morning with a box of Lykke needles. This is a brand new case colour - Black Denim Effect.

The website has been updated.

It’s been ‘get the store in order’ day. I spent a few hours this morning redoing the wall of Emma’s Practically Perfect Sock to make sure all the colours are on the wall. Then I went through our bags of extra stock and got them somewhat in order.

Just before I was leaving Canpar Nick stopped by with a box. I’ll share the contents tomorrow.

My other job this afternoon was to continue working on LYS Day.

Coming to the store to shop? Bring cash - weather permitting we will set up a table outside with select pattern books. These will be priced at $10 each (a great deal). Cash only. All money collected will be donated to CityKidz.

My pile of books is getting larger and larger. I’ve added books from

  • Rowan
  • Noro
  • Modern Daily Knitting
  • Pom
You won’t be disappointed.

Casapinka LYS Day pattern 2026 - Colossal Fluff Up

I’m working on LYS Day prep. This is a sneak peek at Casapinka’s pattern for 2026. You will need 2 skeins of fingering weight for the shawl. Kits will be available online at 12:01am on Saturday April 25th. They will be available in the store when we open at 11am. If you purchase a kit or decide to choose your own colours and purchase 2 skeins of fingering weight yarn (on April 25th) we will give you the code to download the pattern for free.

Please remember that the pattern must be downloaded by sometime on Sunday April 26th. Casapinka hasn’t told us the time yet. If you don’t download the pattern it will be come a paid pattern.

If you order the kit to be shipped we will email you the code.

You will be able to find the kits on the front page of the website when they go live. Here is a little peek. I used Emma’s Practically Perfect Sock, Malabrigo Sock and Malabrigo Ultimate Sock for the kits.

I didn’t make it to the store today. The day was spent running around getting everything ready for next week. This time next Monday Dad and I will be landing in Calgary. A car will be meeting us and driving us to Banff. Tuesday we are spending the day in Banff and Beth has booked us a tour for the afternoon. Wednesday morning we get on the train bright and early. Dad and I have been practicing our morning routine. He likes to say ‘just 5 more minutes’ when you wake him up. He doesn’t have that luxury next week. We need to be in the hotel lobby at 7am.

Now back to the paperwork (tax return) that I didn’t get finished earlier today.

Party at the LYS and Gradient Lights

Deidre finished our Party at the LYS Shawl yesterday. It is gorgeous. The name of the shawl is Gradient Lights and you can purchase the pattern on Ravelry.

Gradient Lights is a top down triangular shaped shawl. While knitting sections of texture and lace you will gently fade from one color to the next resulting in a stunning transition from light to dark.

I designed this shawl specifically for Emma’s Yarn’s LYS DAY limited edition kits.

Kits go live at midnight. The Party at the LYS Day kit includes a code to download the pattern on Ravelry and a Sweet Sheep Lotion Bar.
We also have 3 skein fading kits that would work great for the shawl. These are yarn only - you will have to purchase the pattern on Ravelry.
You will find the kits on the front page of the website as well on the LYS page on the website when they go live.

I was in the store for a long time today and I think we’re ready. I’m heading to bed now for a few hours of sleep before waking up at midnight to make sure all the sale items are showing up properly. Then a few more hours of sleep before heading back to the store. I’m excited for tomorrow.

We have asked everyone who is coming to the store tomorrow to bring non perishable food items for Ancaster Community Services. This was on their Facebook page this morning. Anything you can donate will be greatly appreciated.

Comebackigan

I’m not finished my cardigan yet and Andrea Mowry brings out another beautiful cardigan. This is called Comebackigan and you can purchase the pattern on Ravelry.

When we decided to move back home to Michigan, I knew I wanted to celebrate by casting on a new homecoming cardigan. Pulling inspiration from my Oxbow Cardigan, I paired my favorite knit-purl texture with a Michigan-grown, milled, and dyed yarn, for a classic cardigan that has already jumped to the top of my most-worn list!

This cardigan is knit flat from the bottom up. You will begin with the pockets so that they can be used as your gauge swatch (directions on pg. 5)! The sleeves are knit in the round from the bottom up and joined to be worked together with the body for the yoke. The sweater is finished off with an applied, double-knit button band for a polished finish!

The cardigan is knit in sport weight yarn so I would suggest Juniper Moon Patagonia or The Fibre Co Aranmore Light.

Everyone loves a pattern sale. Here is a link to all of Annie’s patterns on Ravelry. The sale is running until the end of the month.
This is Annie’s Bookish Cardi that we knit in Arranmore Light. We knit our sample 2” longer than the pattern called for.

Here is a chart for the number of skeins. I see there is a typo and the smallest size should be 3 skeins.

We are going to put Noro Kureyon on sale for LYS Day - 25% off.
The online price will change once the sale starts on April 26th.

Now it’s time to try and knit for a while. My kettle is boiling and The Price is Right is on.
