My Favourite Sweater

It's been put away for awhile because the yarn was discontinued. I'd wear the sweater to work and customers kept asking for the yarn. I couldn't help them so the sweater has been resting. Well, that favourite sweater can come out again. It's my 'it's cold out and I want a sweater to snuggle up in' sweater. I love it so much that I have another one started. It wasn't finished because I couldn't wear it to work. Now I can.

The sweater is called Holly and it's from the book Naturally Noro by Jane Ellison.

If you have little ones to knit for, we received some great buttons today.

 

I need to hit Publish and get on to today's other chores. I've been emailing with Sally Melville about her classes for Knitting Camp. I'm excited about the classes that I've chosen.

Fiona's classes should be finalized early next week which means the Camp brochure is just over a week away from being ready.

Holly is done!!

Jane just dropped in with Holly. It is amazing!!! I have been wearing it - a little warm on a day like today but it is so beautiful.

This is truly a work of art. Jane did a fabulous job!!

It was a great day in the store for finished garments. Mr. Canada Post brought in a parcel from Ann. She has been working on a cardigan in Paloma from Debbie Bliss.

I'm chuckling while looking at the picture. Ann did knit the sleeves the same length. Obviously I was clicking pictures without really looking.

Beth and I just did the door prizes for Camp. My suppliers came through with some great gifts. I am now tired and getting grumpy. It's time to hit Publish and sit by myself knitting for a bit.

Jane and her husband are away right now traveling in their motor home. She just emailed me that Holly is done. She took a quick picture with a comment to remember that it still needs blocking.

It is amazing!! I can't wait to see it in person.

Last night Beth and I were part way through Big Brother when I suggested we put on the Weather Channel. The storm outside was huge. Across the bottom were tornado warnings for parts of Ontario including Hamilton. Stay away from windows. Bring your pets in from outside. Go to the basement. We were sitting upstairs and thought it was best to move downstairs. No more Big Brother. We know who won POV but don't know what was done with it. We will watch the end tonight and then find out who goes home.

I left for work this morning and had my computer and the dry cleaning. It wasn't until I got to the store that I realized that my knitting was sitting on the kitchen counter. Bad words came out of my mouth. No knitting meant that I started working on kits for the Knitter's Fair. I am almost done. Just waiting on a shipment of Shepherd Sock from Lorna's Laces to finish Linen Stitch Scarf kits.

It's time to get some knitting done. Many people have finished Clue #4 of the Mystery Shawl and I still have to finish Clue #3.

Holly

I had a blog post written and was ready to hit Publish when Jane walked into the store this afternoon. Scrap that post. Okay, it is saved for tomorrow. Jane brought in Holly. She's almost done and it is absolutely beautiful.

Here is the back.

Jane has picked up over five hundred (yes I wrote 500) stitches around the edge. This is just for the front. The back will be same.

She timed herself and it takes 45 minutes to work one row.

And the front. The edge is curled because there are way so many stitches on the needle. I got her a 150cm (60") circular to hold all the stitches and they just fit.

This is truly a work of art. I don't know if I will be able to wear it-it might hang on the wall beside my blanket.

Jane's Knitting

I am sorry for anyone who has to work outside today. It is nasty. To quote Jane, "it is stinking hot out there."

Golf yesterday was good but extremely hot. For the first three hours on the course I was fine but it got really slow and we were standing in the sun quite a bit. When Beth and I were in Myrtle Beach we could golf 18 holes in 3 hours but it took over 5 hours yesterday. I started getting a migraine around the 14th hole but didn't want to take anything until we were done. There was a dinner and prizes to sit through and I didn't want to fall asleep. We got home, watched Big Brother and then I headed to bed. I did think of writing but I just couldn't do it.

Sarah was really busy while I was out.

An order came in with 6 new colours of Ondas.

Then the Rowan arrived. 9 boxes.

Rowan Magazine 50 was not in the shipment but fingers crossed Mr. UPS will be delivering it tomorrow. I am going to be at work early (normally we open at noon on Fridays) to make sure that I don't miss him.

The mini-magazines did arrive.

I wasn't happy with how things went on Big Brother last night. I don't want to see either lady leave. It would have been great if Jordan had nominated Brendon and Rachel. Can you imaging the antics Rachel would have pulled?

Rowan 50 part 2

Jane just emailed me pictures of Holly. AMAZING!! I can't wait to see it in real life.

Here are some more pictures from Rowan Magazine 50. It still hasn't arrived. HURRY!! I must admit that when I first looked at the magazine I wasn't impressed. Then I saw many of the garments knit up in June and they really impressed me. Now that I am looking at the pictures again I am getting very excited. Many customers make this comment about the Rowan magazines. When flipping through quickly nothing grabs them. Then when they sit down and really look there are many, many things that they would love to knit.

I did receive my store information on the book. Now I can tell you the yarns that are used for each design.

I am adding captions to the pictures. Fingers crossed they won't mess up the post.
