Torzal is Malabrigo’s newest yarns and it should be arriving in the store tomorrow.

Take a look at this beautiful Shift Cowl that was posted on Instagram. It is knit with 3 colours of Torzal. I think I might be casting one on tomorrow if UPS delivers while I’m in the store. 

My second Inclinations Shawl is dry. Now there are ends to sew in.

I was in the store this morning packing orders. There are lots of boxes going out by UPS tomorrow. Then I put together a few more Inclination Shawls that are close to the one I knit.

Pattern Sale

I pulled out another almost finished project on Friday night. This is Night Lights. I’m using Le Lambswool and Dream State. Kits are on the website or you can put together your own combination.

I forgot how easy this pattern is. There isn’t much thinking involved and it looks amazing!!

This Night Lights is hanging in the store. We knit this version with 4 balls of Estelle Merino DK and 3 balls of Edition 3. 

My first Inclinations Shawl is blocked. Now I need to find a needle to sew in the ends.

Inclinations #2 was soaked this morning in Soak.

It was lying out to dry but the family came home and I had to roll it up for dinner. It should be dry tomorrow.

Now back to Night Lights. There was a lot of knitting today and it could be finished tonight.

Flock Pullover

Andrea Mowry has a new pattern.

After I finished the Flock Vest, I knew I needed a pullover version as well! The Flock Pullover includes clever top-down construction, combining a saddle and drop shoulder and a gentle drop hem, with playful stripes to create a fun new wardrobe staple for your closet!

This sweater is knit from the top down (meaning you can try it on as you go and add length to suit your own personal style!), beginning with the the saddle shoulder, then picking up stitches for the back & fronts separately. Once the yoke is completed, we will join to work the body in the round. Thanks to the saddle construction, there is a gentle drop hem of approx. 1.5”/4 cm in the back. The sleeve stitches are picked up from the armhole openings and worked in the round, for a totally seamless sweater!

If you want to have fun you can use a solid colour for the main colour and then add Spincycle Dream State for the stripes. Here is an example on Ravelry.

My shawl is cast off. I love the colours. I don’t think there will be any blocking tonight. I was up at 5:30 to make sure I was out of the house by 7am. I was in the dentist chair from 8-9 for a cleaning. Then at 9:30 the dentist took me in to fix my tooth. The cracked tooth that actually broke late last night. I was in the chair until 11:10 and then had to rush to get back to the store. It was 12:15 when I got here - just a bit late. My head and mouth hurt - they still do.

I did make up a few one of kind kits for the Inclinations Shawl. Kit A is the colours from my shawl above. Kit B is from my colours below. More will be added to the website tomorrow.

It’s bedtime soon. The family had a great day at the cottage. They caught lots of fish (that were released) so everyone is happy. 

Hollyhock

I haven’t shared my knitting lately. There was a lot of knitting last night watching hockey. It turned into a late evening with one of the early games going into overtime. I did not stay up for the late game.

I’m about halfway through the last two balls of Dream State. I really like how this Inclinations Shawl is coming out.

We just received an order from Rowan and have the last colour to knit the cover vest. Hollyhock was designed by Brandon Mably and is knit in Rowan Summerlite 4ply.

I had a nap after work and dinner is now finished. It’s time for Survivor and knitting.

My yarn is ready to go

I don’t know how much time I will have to blog while dad and I are away. We have to be out of our room before 7am and then we could be 12 hours on the train each day. Then get to the hotel, check in, have dinner and relax for a bit before an early bed time. I have some posts scheduled for while we’re away. If I have time to write then there will be bonus posts. I have a feeling there will be a lot of pictures.

The first four skeins of my Inclinations Shawl are done. I’ve knit too far to take it away with us so new skeins have been wound.

Our dining room table is covered with clothes, snacks, prescriptions and anything else I think we’ll need. The dogs are starting to get a bit antsy wondering what’s going on.

Beth is getting excited about her time alone. No worrying about dinner for everyone - she can eat whatever she wants. She can watch whatever she wants. She can be as loud as she wants. She’s going to have a great week.

Train Knitting

My new project is Andrea Mowry’s Inclinations Shawl.

The shawl is knit with 6 skeins of Spincycle Dream State. I’m starting with Bitter Pill and Salty Dog. Then it will be Close Call with Something Wicked followed by Wild Horses with Melancholia.

I’m trying to get the first two balls knit before we leave. This means packing less yarn.

I’ve knit the shawl 3 times already. Here are pictures of two of them.

It’s a great project for knitting on the train. The pattern is repetitive and easy to remember. 

Beth was having a hard time working this afternoon. Her chair doesn’t fit anywhere near her desk.
