Malabrigo Washted

Diana dropped by today with our Traveler Shawl knit in Malabrigo Washted. It is amazing!!!

Pattern - Traveler Shawl (purchased on Ravelry)

Yarn - 5 skeins of Malabrigo Washted in the colour Arco Iris

Needles - 4.5mm

Diana did the larger size. If you don’t want the shawl as big you can do the second side with quicker decreases. Andrea has two sets of instructions for the second side.

Diana did not worry about how the colours would come out. Every skein is slightly different and she just pulled the next skein out of the bag and started knitting. I love the effect. She is going to knit another one and will be using Rios for this one. I am having her cake all the skeins and start with the lightest and work to the darkest. We’ll see how that method turns out.

Stephen West’s newest sock pattern came out this morning. These look like fun socks. They are knit with Crazy Zauberball and a solid fingering weight yarn (Emma’s Practically Perfect Sock, SweetGeorgia Tough Love Sock, Malabrigo Ultimate Sock, Madelinetosh Twist Light, Hedgehog Twist Sock….)

You can purchase the pattern for Spiral Splash Socks on Ravelry.

These top-down socks showcase marled and self-striping yarns beautifully! Choose one main color plus one ball of self-striping yarn and enjoy the easy to knit slip stitches and stripes. There are five sizes to choose from with notes on how to customize the leg and foot to perfectly fit your feet. The pattern includes video links to help you with any special techniques from casting on to working the heel flap and knitting jogless stripes. The right and left sock spiral in different directions to form mirror images socks. They are wearable works of art for your feet!
