Way Back Patterns

This beautiful cardigan is knit in Rowan Felted Tweed. I was searching through the free Rowan patterns on Ravelry and stumbled upon this cardigan. The pattern came out in 2008 and is still stylish.

Knit this shaped, cable and moss stitch textured cardigan. Designed by Sarah Hatton, it has been updated using the yarn Felted Tweed DK (Merino Wool, Alpaca, Viscose).

Originally featured in Rowan Studio 8, this pattern is now available for free download. For the intermediate knitter.

You can download the pattern for free on Ravelry.

Here is another way back pattern. Laura Aylor’s Lizard Ridge. This is a great pattern if you want to play with Kureyon but don’t want to make Log Cabin squares.
I had been searching for an afghan pattern that takes advantage of Kureyon’s long color runs. This block pattern is based on Barbara G. Walker’s Short-Row Stripes square in her Learn to Knit Afghan book. The original idea was to knit a square occasionally as I came across new colors of Kureyon, finishing the afghan in time to send it to college with my daughter, who is also a knitter and who loves Kureyon. Unable to stop once I began, she instead received it for her 15th birthday.

The pattern is free on Ravelry.

The pattern was originally published by Knitty.com

23 squares are finished and I started another watching football last night.

Cheryl commented on yesterday’s post.

Personally I would just finish the squares required and call it a day. There are so many patterns to knit. Lol

I seriously thought about following Cheryl’s advice but last night I found more balls of Kureyon hidden at home so I’m going to make more squares. My next blanket might take another 10 years - it’s okay. Yarn doesn’t go bad. I don’t have to knit it right away.
