Lots of New

I spent time unpacking today.

There’s nothing quite like the lush, cosy feeling of handknitted socks! Quick and satisfying to make, small and portable, socks remain one of the most frequently handknit items today.

Following the wonderfully successful Knit How, our essential beginners knitting book, and our pullover compendium Ready Set Raglan, Pom Pom brings you Ready Set Socks, an exploration of sock designs for new and advanced knitters alike.

A collaboration with legendary sock maven Rachel Coopey, Ready Set Socks is our ultimate guide to sock-making! Get ready to experiment, discover the magic that is turning a heel, and become a seasoned sock knitter.

The book includes ten unique patterns in both 4-ply / fingering and DK-weight versions. From simple and speedy stocking and ribbed socks, to fancy mosaic knitting colour combinations, you’ll be sure to find your perfect pair with this compendium of patterns to come back to again and again.

Ready Set Socks is a new book from Pompom. It is available online and in the store.

We have new products from Cocoknits.

Our Super-Absorbent Towel speeds up the process of drying hand washables by absorbing excess water from your garment before air drying. Made from a lightweight felt-like cloth, it soaks up much more water than a regular bath towel. By gently removing excess water and shortening drying time, our towel will help your knits look their best for years to come.

Packaged in a reusable linen drawstring bag to minimize packaging waste.

Julie from Cocoknits did an Instagram video showing how the Towel works.

These eco-friendly nylon mesh cylinder bags keep your knitted and crocheted pieces, or any delicate washables, from stretching or snagging in the wash. Cocoknits is committed to avoiding and reducing plastic waste wherever possible, so the Sweater Care Washing Bag is woven of yarn made from recycled plastics. Use it to provide your knitted items the care they need to last for a long time, because your hand knit and crocheted pieces should be the ultimate in slow fashion. The Small Sweater Care Washing Bag is the right size to wash accessories or small garments. The Large Sweater Care Washing Bag holds sweaters or other medium to large garments.  Whether machine or hand washable, the bag will help protect your knits and keep them looking great for years to come.

Julie knows that keeping our handmade sweaters beautiful requires a little care and some great tools. The Sweater Care Brush allows you to refresh and rejuvenate your textiles so they look their best and last for years. Not only does it depill and fluff up mohair and alpaca, it removes lint and other fibers from clothing and household fabrics.

The natural boar bristles are much more effective and less staticky than the usual synthetic bristles. The smooth oval body is comfortable in the hand and made from sustainable bamboo. The cotton twill handle completes its functionality and beautiful look.

Packaged in a reusable linen drawstring bag to minimize packaging waste.

This sturdy jute tote bag, with strong handles, is perfect for corralling all of the Sweater Care Collection tools (sold separately). Jute is a natural fiber that is 100% recyclable and biodegradable. It’s the ideal size for a sweater quantity of yarn, veggies from the Farmer’s Market, or any time you need a reusable shopping bag.

The bag and Sweater Care products are sold separately.

After I got these boxes unpacked I received two large boxes from Rowan. I will try and get that online tonight or tomorrow (or Monday or Tuesday 😀)

I wrote earlier in the store and then almost forgot to hit Publish. The third baseball game of the day is about to start which means it’s time to knit. My Inclinations Shawl is growing. My goal is to finish the second colours by the end of the weekend. The shawl should be finished by the end of the month. Normally Alex does my blocking but I want to try the new Towel. Okay, who am I kidding?? I will give the towel to Alex for when she blocks my shawl.
