Felted Tweed

Rowan Felted Tweed is a yarn that we love in the store. We currently stock 59 colours - there is something for everyone. I went on Ravelry and started to look at older patterns that are knit in Felted Tweed. These could be garments that are new to you. Or they could be garments that you have forgotten about.

All the patterns are available on Ravelry. Click on the sweater name and it will take you to the pattern.

This is Bell by Lisa Richardson.

Circle in a Square by Kaffe Fassett.
Petal by Marie Wallin.
PETAL is a very flattering shape, semi fitted and square with an unusual button stolling. The stitch is mainly a twisted stitch pattern with a small section of shaped garter stitch at the bottom.

An A-line, short-sleeved scoop neck cardigan with tab closure, empire waist detail and cabling partially down sides of front and back. Front, back and sleeve diagram given; no cable chart.

This Martha by Sarah Hatton.

Gemma by Sarah Hatton.

Here is the link to Ravelry that will show you more patterns knit in Felted Tweed. I thought I was finished with pictures but there was more pretty sweaters to share.

Elmtree by Lisa Richardson.

A delicious taste of stranded colorwork, this cute cap is fun and engaging, and still simple enough for first time stranders! We’ve created a four-color motif, which—as is traditional—uses only two colors per row. Then, we came up with three different color palettes and six different charts (two charts for each palette). And then threw in one more ‘plain’ chart, so that you can make up your own colorway!

This Colorwork Cap shines in a finer DK-weight, warm and woolly yarn with a great color palette. So we picked perennial favorite Rowan Felted Tweed!

Our favorite poncho transcends the trends. As a friend from Peru wryly observed, “Where I come from, we’ve worn ponchos for three thousand years!” It’s easy to knit (just one long stockinette rectangle), easy to finish, and easy to throw on. We think it’s like a really elegant sweatshirt.
This is Churchmouse Yarn’s Easy Folded Poncho.

Ask any Rowan fan for their favourite yarn and there's a good chance it'll be Felted Tweed. Spun in a light DK weight, with a beautiful tweed effect and an amazing 50+ colours to choose from, it's a Fair Isle knitter's dream. But that's not all. The magical combination of 50% lightly-felted wool, 25% viscose and 25% alpaca makes it supremely blockable and a gorgeous option for lacework as a result. Or knit it in garter stitch for a drapey, squishable fabric that is cosy, but light and easy to wear. Choose from nature-inspired shades ranging from cool watery tones to warming cherry red and fiery ginger and prepare to fall in love! Now available in special colourways chosen by world-renowned designer Kaffe Fassett.

Thanks for reminding me of the Petal pattern. Some of these others I don't think I'd seen. Another great thing about Felted Tweed is how well it wears, with really minimal pilling.
