Highlands and Slippy Vs

Stephen West has a new pattern.

This top-down sweater is knit with fingering weight yarn. The sample features one solid main color and one self-striping contrast color. Alternate between bands of stockinette stitch and slipped stitches for a beautifully textured fabric. You can easily customize the length of the yoke, body, and sleeves of the sweater by knitting more rounds or fewer rounds of the pattern. Try our West Wool Bicycle yarn and Schoppel Wolle’s Zauberball Crazy or dive into your stash to curate your own unique Slippy V Sweater palette!

The Slippy V Sweater pattern can be purchased on Ravelry.

Stephen suggests a fingering weight yarn with Crazy Zauberball. You can also use Dyed in the Wool for the contrast colour.

Tina from Freia Fibers has a new scarf pattern. You can purchase the pattern for the Highlands Scarf on Ravelry.

The Highlands Scarf is inspired by the expansive views of the infinite rolling hills in the Berkshires where I live as well as my memories of travels through the Atlas Mountains of Morocco. That these mountains and valleys were linked a hundred million years ago is no surprise given their similar appearance.

As shown, the scarf calls for 9 minikins with the color sequence listed here first as color name and then starting color end:

Main Color / MC:

  1. Aswan (green),

  2. Mist (blue),

  3. Cloud (light grey),

  4. Sobek (black),

  5. Oyster (yellow),

  6. Damask (tan)

Contrast Color / CC:

  1. Canyon (brown),

  2. Woodsman (blue/grey),

  3. Harvest (brown)

Scarf size is easy to modify by adding or subtracting repeats.

We have all the colours in stock except for Woodsman. I’m sure that I can come up with something else.

We have a shipment coming tomorrow from Madelinetosh with a brand new yarn.
