Fun Opportunity

I had a really fun opportunity present itself today so I’m playing hookey this week and heading off to the Bahamas.

The store will be back open on Saturday April 13th. I will be offering 10% off all purchases on Saturday the 13th (from 11am-4pm in the store and online) to say thank you for being patient while I get a little R&R.

We just received BC Garn Allino and here are some pattern suggestions.

"Allino" - the name sounds light, airy and reminds one of a day at sea. A classic combination of linen and cotton; the mixture of these two natural fibers - one muted, the other with a slightly glossy surface - gives this versatile yarn a lively appearance.

50% Linen, 50% Cotton

This is Spacetime by Heidi Kirrmaier (pattern purchased on Ravelry). This is a brand new pattern.

This sweater is knit seamlessly from the top down in the round, starting with the collar. The yoke shaping is neither raglan nor round; it’s a bit of both!

Options:
The pattern includes 3 options, that you can mix and match: rolled or ribbed edges; straight or A-line body shape; basic (m1l and m1r) or invisible lifted increases. If you are unsure which edge you prefer, you can make a swatch with one edge style on each end, and wash and dry it to see how they behave.

Teal sample shown has rolled edges, m1r and m1l increases, and straight body shaping. Grey sample has ribbed edges, invisible lifted increases, and straight body shaping.

From Isabell Kraemer - this is Yume (pattern purchased on Ravelry).

yume is worked seamlessly from the top down. First some short-rows are worked back and forth to create a higher back neck and then the round- yoke is worked top down to sleeve separation. Some last short-rows are worked to finish the yoke shaping right before sleeve stitches are placed on hold, then the body is worked in rounds down to the hem. Sleeves are worked top down to the cuffs last.
Neck is left unfinished, but feel free to pick up stitches around the neck and work a few rounds in 1x1 Twisted Rib if desired.

The pattern wasn’t designed in Allino but many samples on Ravelry were knit with Allino.

Isabell Kraemer designed Dexter (pattern purchased on Ravelry) in Allino.
Dexter is a cute, textured cardigan worked seamlessly from the top down. The upper part of the raglan yoke of the fronts and the back is worked in Broken Seed Stitch, while the sleeves are worked in Stockinette stitch. Additional increases are worked after the Broken Seed Stitch part of the yoke to get a relaxed fit. When the yoke shaping is complete, sleeve stitches are placed on hold to work the body first down to the ribbing. A small Broken Seed Stitch band before the ribbing is added for a little interest ;) Then stitches are picked up for the button band and the buttonhole band. Neck-finishing is worked next. Last the sleeve stitches are placed back on the needles to work the sleeves seamlessly in the round down to the cuffs
Take a look at all the finished projects. The cardigan looks great in every colour.
Now I need to do some laundry. I fly out tomorrow evening.
