Mosaic Mood and Supernova Shawl

Cheryl Faust has a new pattern.

Mosaic Mood is an elongated triangular shaped shawl, knit from the top down, using three shades of fingering weight yarn. A captivating array of stitch patterns feature bands of playful mosaic flowers and coordinating border. Rhythmic and engaging to knit, you’ll not want to put this project down.

The color-work patterning is achieved using the mosaic technique, whereas you’ll simply be using just one color per row. Mosaic Mood also features neat and tidy I-cord edges, beautiful center spine detailing, and an exquisite two color I-cord bind-off.

The shawl is knit with three colours of fingering weight yarn.

Kathy stopped by today with her finished Supernova Shawl. This was a MKAL from Ambah O’Brien. The shawl is beautiful.

Knit yourself a wearable exploding star! Originally designed as a five-part mystery knit along (MKAL), the Supernova Shawl will take you on a cosmic knitting adventure with plenty of techniques to try along the way.

Designed to utilise twelve mini skeins paired with a full skein, this is a delicious way to use a gorgeous set or to dive into your stash and make the most of all those lovely leftovers you’ve been collecting.

The pattern includes both written and charted instructions for the charted sections.
Supernova begins in the centre, with the birth of your star and is worked in the round initially. Stitches are then held while each “wing” is worked flat, separately. Finally stitches are picked up along the outside edge to complete the project with the edging.

Kathy used Emma’s Practically Perfect Sock Twilight for the main colour. For her 12 mini skeins she used Just Add Salt, Sugar Coated and A Theme Pack in the colour On the Vine.

Here is Ambah’s Finished Shawl.
There will be an order coming from Biches & Buches before the end of the month. There are new colours and a new yarn.
Le Lambswool

Le Petit Silk & Mohair

Our beautiful Le Petit Organic Cotton is a rustic, soft and natural organic cotton in balls of 100grm.

Le Petit Organic Cotton has 300m on a ball and knits 22-24 stitches to 4”. The yarn is so new that it isn’t on Ravelry yet.

These pictures are from Biches & Buches Instagram feed. The cotton looks great knit in a lace pattern.
Now it’s knitting time. I’m making progress on the Alpine Bloom Hat Part 2. I’ll show pictures tomorrow when I get further into the flowers.
