Fine Yarn Dive

Our good friend Sally Melville has a new pattern.

I have recently discovered how much I love garments made with fingering yarns. If you feel resistant to all that knitting, consider the following.
• Because there is so much fingering available, finding a fun mix of colours will be easy. (Chances are you already have half what you need in your stash?)
• Knitting with fingering yarns is very easy on the hands.
• Because so much of it is tightly spun, it hangs beautifully.
• We can wear these garments through all seasons.
• And don’t you, every once in a while, love a project that requires a lot of knitting?

I used 8 different colours of fingering yarn, and the pattern explains how my colours were chosen, You could, of course, knit this with any number of different yarns, in any number of colours. All neutrals would be lovely and easy to wear! You just want to make sure you have a total of AT LEAST 1200 (1400, 1600) yds (1080 1260, 1440m)--for sizes XS-S (M-L, 1X-2X).

Here are the measurements for this comfortably, oversized sweater.
Finished bust 46 (54, 62)” (117 137, 157cm)
Finished hem 40 (48, 56)” (102 122, 142cm)
Finished front length 22” (57cm)
Finished back length 24” (62cm)
Finished sleeve length 29” (74cm)

You will never go wrong knitting a Sally Melville pattern. The pattern for Fine Yarn Dive is available for purchase on Ravelry.

Birds of a Feather has a temporary new home.

We have lots of kits made up. Drop in and see them before they head to Camp.

Elah now lives on the table in the front room. I paired him with the Velvet Mirror Cowl. These will also be making the drive up north.

While we are at Camp (Friday September 30th and Saturday October 1st) Beth will be in the store. Over the next few weeks I need to teach her how to cash out customers. Lynn and I are going to label all samples with as much information as possible. We will make kits for samples to try and make Beth’s (and your) life easier. I have a feeling my phone could be ringing a few times while I’m away.

Wow, Sally's new sweater is perfect for me and my stash! Thanks so much. I'm often grateful for the patterns you bring to our attention, and this one is really what I need in the near future.
