Ranunculus

A very popular pattern on Ravelry. Today it is #4 on the Hot Right Now list.

This is Lynn’s first Ranunculus (pattern purchased on Ravelry). She used two skeins of Noro Kumo with 33grams left in the second skein.

Lynn used 5.5mm needles instead of the 6mm that the pattern called for (she knits a little on the loose side) and her finished bust is 40". She followed the pattern for number of stitches but made the length longer than the pattern says. Lynn chose the larger neck option. The sweater fits her perfectly.

Ranunculus is a top-down round yoke pullover with lace and textured stitches. The round yoke has ample depth and finished pullover has cropped length so that you can lay it over dresses or high-waisted skirts and pants. If crops aren’t your style, please adjust body to your favorite length.

There were some interesting yarn choices on Ravelry. 25 people used Rowan Felted Tweed on the 6mm needles that the pattern calls for. Others used a strand of fingering with a strand of lace weight mohair. Think MadTosh merino light with Rowan Kidsilk Haze. Or Hedgehog Skinny Singles with Kidsilk Lace.

After I typed Hedgehog I remembered that I haven’t written about our next order. It should be coming in a few weeks and we will be well stocked on Skinny Singles, Sock, Kidsilk Lace and Alpaca Boucle.

Turtlepurl should be arriving any day. The colours are on the website and I will update the inventory the minute the box is delivered.

Now it’s time to sign off and watch the hockey game.
