Outdoor Yarn Shop

We have used this pattern for different fingering weight yarns and love it. It is a simple pattern to memorize and you can make the shawl as big or small as you want.

This shawl is called Espe (pattern purchased on Ravelry). We used one Freia Yarn Bomb.

The shawl is worked in one piece, side-to-side, from a tiny six-stitch cast on, and it increases along one edge forming a practical, elongated triangle. A simple yarn over edging is worked along the two longer sides; this can be used for finishing since the blocking wires can be easily threaded through the yarn overs.

Here is another sample we have.

We are going to set up a small yarn shop outside in our parking lot on Saturday July 17, 2021 from 10am-3:30 pm.

  • For the safety of everyone coming masks are required.
  • We are very limited on capacity. Only 20 people will be allowed in at a time. Please no spouses, partners, sisters, brothers, friends or children unless they are a knitter. (This is what was sent out in a newsletter this morning and now I read that we are moving to Stage 3. This means that we can have more people shopping at a time but we don’t want to overcrowd things. We might need to cap the number of people at any one time just to maintain distancing.)
  • Payment by debit or credit card.
  • The store will NOT be open for in store shopping
  • Park in the empty lot beside the store.
  • Weather permitting.

If you know of items you need ahead of time (knitting needles, accessories...), please order online and choose Curbside Pick Up. Mark in the notes that you are coming and we will have it outside waiting for you.

What will be outside?
  1. We have gone through some of our hand dyed sock yarns and they will be on sale. $20 for 100grams. Don’t worry - we have lots of yarn. There will be enough for everyone - whether you come at 10amor 3pm
    • Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sock
    • Lorna's Laces Solemate
    • Mountain Colors Bearfoot
    • Prism Saki
    • more could be added
  2. The many samples that have been knit up over the past 12 months along with kits.
  3. New yarns.
  4. New bags

Here are some pictures from September 2020 when we did a sale in the parking lot. It isn’t fancy but it will let you see yarns, kits, bags and finished garments that you haven’t seen before.

Beth took this picture at work yesterday. Someone is waiting for a cookie.
