Can’t be bothered

Sometimes you need a lightweight shawl. Like eating in a restaurant that has the air conditioning blasting. Or in the office. This is Joji’s Wispy Shawl (pattern purchased on Joji’s website).

I love one skein shawls… I know they are an easy project to jump on, they allow us to dream big with a small investment (just one skein) and they just make every single yarn of a very special yarn count.
And while this shawl is not technically a one-skein project, it ALMOST is, and it was born as a one-skein idea to me, so hopefully you will find one special skein to make it!

For this shawl you will need 1 skein of laceweight yarn (I used mohair) and a few yards (50y tops) of a coordinating fingering weight yarn (I used leftovers).

I love designing with negative space. The new popularity of mohair has allowed me to play with light and shadows in my knitting, creating see-through textures and delicate contrasts.
For Wispy, I used two yarns in a similar shade of dusty pink, but you can use completely different colors, to make the solid striping stand out more.

Lynn and I were busy getting things ready for next Saturday. There will be yarn (lots of yarn) but also some knitting bags. The Drawstring Bag from ZigZag Stitches will be on sale for $30. I’ve marked the price down on the website to make sure that I don’t forget.
Padded Drawstring Bag for a small knitting or crochet project.

Dimensions: (approximate)
10 inches tall (25 cm) x 8.5 inches wide (21 cm), when flattened
Base is 3.5 x 5 inches (9 cm x 13 cm)

Take your small knitting or crochet project out in style in this handy drawstring bag. Socks, mittens, or a small scarf will fit. My drawstring bags have a padded lining to protect your needles and help prevent them from poking through the fabric. The bag will stand on its own, even when empty.
You can keep the yarn in the bag and hang the bag on your wrist while knitting. This is perfect for commuter knitting, for showing off at your knit night, or for keeping your knitting projects organized at home. Knitting needles or a spindle, up to 8 inches long (20 cm), will fit.

With all our cleaning we found 3 Knit Kits. They are available on the website.

Dad and Lucy went to our house this morning to help Beth with some chores. Lucy couldn’t be bothered to get out of the truck. She laid in the truck all morning watching the world go by. This is the ramp that dad made to make it easy for her to get in and out. She walks up and down the ramp no problem. She is so used to it that she won’t get out if it’s not there. If you are new to the blog - yes Lucy is lazy but the ramp is because she had ACL surgery. She isn’t supposed to jump (in or out) so the ramp will help with her healing.
