Lace Lovers

Rosemary (Romi) Hill has a new pattern called Through the Gate Gently that you can purchase on Ravelry. The shawl is beautiful! Romi’s patterns are very well written.

Through The Gate Gently is an act of love and remembrance. I didn’t realize it when I started, but by the time I finished this gentle hazy green shawl, I knew it was my subconscious mind working away behind the scenes. The hat I’m wearing in the pictures was given me by Suzanne Middlebrooks at the 2020 Hill Country Weavers retreat in Texas. She always made me - and everyone else who knew her - feel like Austin was my home, and I never imagined that would be the last time I saw her, or how much would change in the days after.

To Suzanne, and to the many we have loved and lost: you will never be forgotten. Rest easy, my friends.

This shawl is a mashup designed using elements of the three previous 2023 Lace Lovers Club shawls.

Romi used Biches & Buches Le Petit Silk & Mohair for her shawl. Rowan Kidsilk Haze would also work. For the Medium shawl you need 4 balls and the Tall shawl is knit with 5 balls.

Here is a link to all the yarns in stock that would work.

Are you following Romi on Instagram? If not, I highly recommend you do. She has great, short videos with tips on making your knitted projects look better. Her most recent posts have been about picking up stitches.

I spent a bit of time in the store this morning shipping orders and then I had errands to run.

Tomorrow morning we are having a home inspection for our insurance company. That means I need to do a bit of tidying and vacuuming tonight. Jackson and Fred leave dust bunnies (big dust bunnies) around the house. You think you have them all and then 1/2 an hour after the vacuum goes away you find more. I love them both but I wish they would pick up after themselves.
