Beach Nights

Deidre has a new project. The pattern is called Beach Nights and you can purchase it on Ravelry.

Is there any better feeling than walking along the beach as the sun goes down, listening to the water crashing along the shore and smelling the salty night air? Waves of fishtail lace and colorful seashells come to life on your knitting needles in this asymmetric triangular shawl. Choose your palette to create a look that is soft and subtle, bold and bright, or a rainbow shining over the water, ready for whatever the Beach Nights might bring.

Lace is both charted and written, but experience with lace is recommended for this intermediate design. A video tutorial is included with the pattern to demonstrate the conch stitch.

These are the colours we are using - I like the finished shawl and didn’t want to mess around with the look.

Practically Perfect Sock - Love + Leche (2 skeins)
Practically Perfect Sock Smalls - 1 skein each
-Whisper
-Himalayan Salt
-Beach Please
-Teddy
-Kisses
-Roasted

Deidre is also making herself a Log Cabin Afghan and asked about the new colours of Noro Kureyon. These should be in the store by the end of August.

I need a few more squares for my afghans and thought about taking Kureyon to the cottage next weekend. Now that I’m looking at the colours again I’m going to wait for these arrive. They will be a great addition to the afghans. Yes, that is plural. I have many squares made - more than enough for one afghan so I’ll be making two.

Speaking of the cottage - I will be closing early a few Saturdays this month so that I can drive up on Saturday afternoon instead of Sunday morning.

The store will be open from 11am-2pm (not the normal 4pm) on
Saturday August 5th (long weekend)
Saturday August 26th
Saturday September 2nd (long weekend)
Fred is learning about cookie time in the office.

Janice is laid up after foot surgery and has been knitting away on her Alpine Bloom. Here is the lace pattern for the first sleeve. I haven’t picked up my needles for a few days. It’s time to get them out. Alpine Bloom isn’t going to knit itself.

I love Beach Nights shawl and I agree the colours are perfect. Love the Emma's yarn choices. Will you be making them available as a kit?
