Collaboration

The collaboration between Madelinetosh and Shibui is now available on the website.

Drapey, cozy, elegantly simple: Rapport is comfort knitting with a dramatic result. The design is completely reversible and symmetrical, so it looks good however you wear it. The combination of Shibui Silk Cloud and Tosh Merino Light yields a fabric that is soft and warm, with a comforting weight and flickering colour. To make Rapport, you need to know how to knit, purl, and slip stitches. That’s it. The pattern includes instructions for three widths; the length is easily adjustable to suit your tastes. The sample shown is the largest size and is modeled by Josephine Ankarah, who is 5 ft 7 in/ 170cm tall.

You can purchase the pattern for Rapport on Ravelry.

Here are a few more pattern suggestions for the yarn.

Sarah knit the Rock It Tee with long sleeves.
Hard Cider by Thea Colman (this sweater doesn’t not call for using a strand of fingering with a strand of lace but someone on Ravelry did it and the sweater looks amazing)

Birds of a Feather

By the end of January we should have sock yarn from Turtlepurl. These are two of the colours that are coming.
Turtle Toes comes as a two-skein set, one 50g skein for each foot. The two skeins are dyed together, which means you get two identical socks.
Wannietta is always knitting with Turtlepurl yarn and I finally contacted Emily to order some for the store.

We will launch the yarn online 24 hours after it arrives in the store. That will give me time to blog about the colours and put it on social media. Everyone will have equal opportunity to get Emily’s amazing colours.

Muffins are in the oven and Beth is bringing home dinner. Then it will be time to knit!
