Knitting Catastrophe

Churchmouse Yarns sent out a newsletter this morning showing this great cowl. It is knit with two balls of Rowan Big Wool on 9mm needles.

Quick and clever, this cowl (a free pattern) is worked in the soothing rhythm of K2, P2 ribbing—with a simple twist. An extra stitch ‘oopses’ the next row over by one for mistake rib—a much more complex texture than the simple ribbing instructions imply!

The Quick Mistake Rib Cowl is a fast, fun knit in Rowan Big Wool—a woolly mammoth of a yarn that makes simple stitch patterns really pop! Spun from 100% merino wool, this yarn’s bulk belies an easy-to-work-with softy that knits up any project in a jiff. You’ll find this cowl flies off your needles and around your neck in no time.

You can download the pattern on Churchmouse’s website.

We received shipments from Skacel, Knitting Fever and Rowan today. Here are the prizes that arrived for our #GivingTuesday draw.

This sweater is called Agyness. 10 balls of Rowan Big Wool colour 83 and the pattern are packaged in a pretty box. A sealed pretty box so I can’t take a picture of the yarn.

Last night while watching the football game I made it to the armhole shaping of my Tessellated Vest. I cast off the first set of armhole stitches and then decided to count the rest of the stitches to make sure the numbers added up. While I was counting half of my stitches came off the needle. Everyone should be yelling STITCH STOPPERS right now. The stitches are back on the needle. But… Some of the stitches dropped down a row so I need to be careful when I carry on knitting.

I left my knitting in a heap and will look at it after dinner. I was so mad when I went to bed. STITCH STOPPERS!!!
