An Experiment

We have been waiting for this book from Rowan and it finally arrived. There are four amazing designs knit using Rowan Felted Tweed.

Ask any Rowan fan for their favourite yarn and there's a good chance it'll be Felted Tweed. Spun in a light DK weight, with a beautiful tweed effect and an amazing 40 colours to choose from, it's a Fair Isle knitter's dream. But that's not all. The magical combination of 50% lightly-felted wool, 25% viscose and 25% alpaca makes it supremely blockable and a gorgeous option for lacework as a result. Or knit it in garter stitch for a drapey, squishable fabric that is cosy, but light and easy to wear. Choose from nature-inspired shades ranging from cool watery tones to warming cherry red and fiery ginger and prepare to fall in love! Now available in special colourways chosen by world-renowned designers Kaffe Fassett and Dee Hardwicke
Until Monday March 23 at 11:59pm EST we are offering a discount on Rowan Felted Tweed. 20% off when you use the coupon code FELTEDTWEED on the website.

You can also click on this link and it will take to you Felted Tweed. Put the yarn in your cart and when you get to the checkout you will see that the discount has been applied.
I did a small experiment this afternoon. This is Kidsilk Lace from Hedgehog Fibres (the colour is Pistachio) and fingering weight yarn that was left over from a shawl I knit. This will give you an idea on how a hand dyed mohair/silk will look in a Love Note.
There are new colours of Kidsilk Lace coming from Hedgehog. They have left the UK but haven't arrived in Canada. That has been the tracking information this week. Hopefully the box appears next week. We also have Mohair Silk Lace coming from Life in the Long Grass. We should see that early in April.

Now it's time to knit. Top Chef started again last night and we have it taped.
