Petra Jacket

PetiteKnit has a new pattern. This looks like a Lynn cardigan to me.

The Petra Jacket is worked from the top down. First, the back yoke is worked back and forth on the needle with increases. Then the shoulders are worked from stitches that are picked up and knitted along the back yoke. Stitches are then picked up and knitted along the shoulders, so all of the stitches are sitting on the circular needle and can be worked back and forth – first with increases for the sleeves and then with raglan increases. The body is worked back and forth on a circular needle. The sleeves are worked in the round on double-pointed needles or on a circular needle using the Magic Loop technique. At the end, double-knitted front plackets are worked along the front edges, and then a collar is worked in rib.

This jacket screams to be knit with Cascade 220 Heathers. I recommend swatching because I think you will need to use a 4.5mm or 5mm needle for the main body.

We will have more colours of Cascade 220 Heathers coming later this fall - 10 to be exact.

We watched the coolest thing this evening. I saw online that the International Space Station was flying directly over Southern Ontario and it would be visible. It travels at 28,000km/h. We saw it coming around 8:32 and it was gone by 8:39. It looked like a bright star traveling across the sky.

Now a few rows of knitting before bed. The bottom ribbing is almost finished on my Tally Tee. I’ll start the sleeves over the weekend.
