Master Class

The new Mason-Dixon Knitting Field Guide is here. Oh my!!
With joy, we welcome one of our all-time favorite designers: Kaffe Fassett.
Field Guide No. 13: Master Class will bring a blast of color and a spirit of adventure to your knitting. Scarves, cowls, cushions, throws, and wraps—with 20 charts and 6 stripe designs, you’ll find endless ways to play with color and pattern.
Kaffe used Rowan Felted Tweed - think of the fun you can have with the colour palette.
Kaffe shaped my knitting life. I could knit when I was very young but I first discovered Kaffe when I was about 15. The colours he used were inspiring. And so many in one design. This was at the height of Icelandic sweaters so it was refreshing to see something different.

We have new swifts in stock. These will not be available on the website because of the cost of shipping. If you would like one mailed, please call or email us and we can let you know the pricing.

With a smooth wax finish and no small metal pieces, snags while winding your yarn are a thing of the past!
Each swift will accommodate a skein measuring up to 78".
Swift with Base: 22" tall x 7" diameter (closed)
The Eco Wash Bags from Soak arrived this morning. They look great. We have one open in the store so you can see the size.

New colours of Lore from The Fibre Co. arrived this morning as well. We've been busy rearranging and updating the website for everything.
Processed in a mill in England’s historical textile region of West Yorkshire, Lore is made of 100% lambswool from the Romney sheep breed also referred to locally as Kent lamb. It is an honest woolen spun DK weight yarn that blooms into a beautiful knitted fabric after washing.  Garments made from Lore will wear well and are perfect for everyday and special adventures alike.  We named this yarn Lore to honour the stories we create with wool. Great stories happen to those who knit them.  Won’t you share your knitting story with us?
Meet Me at Midnight is a great shawl that uses 3 skeins of Lore. You can purchase the pattern on Ravelry. This shawl belongs to Daphne who owns The Fibre Co and the colours are gorgeous.

This is our store sample.

A customer came in this morning with a huge bag of hats and scarves. She has been knitting for a year and when she read about Mission Services she brought them in. Thank you Lynn!!! Lynn has put the word out to a few knitting groups. If you know a group/are part of a group, please spread the word.

My second hat is finished and I have the yarn for another. This time I am going to take an aran weight yarn and double strand it to make a bulky weight.

I'm really early again today with my post. There are so many great new products that blogging has been easy this week.
