Bluegrass

This is Wool & Pine’s latest pattern called Bluegrass. You can purchase the pattern on Ravelry. I already did.

We are thrilled to introduce our latest creation: the mesmerizing Bluegrass Shawl! This luxurious stashbuster is designed to bring warmth and style to your wardrobe, while showcasing your artistic flair. With layers of lush brioche stitches and a dazzling color palette, you’ll delight in the enchanting knitting experience that awaits.

Knitting on the bias creates a chill, low-stitch-count experience, allowing the bold colors to truly steal the show. Unleash your inner artist! Our sample showcases a stunning mix of Hedgehog Fibres Sock Minis in an array of vibrant, variegated colorways. Dive into your stash, mix and match your favorite shades, and create a one-of-a-kind, plush, reversible fabric for your personalized Bluegrass Shawl.

No need to worry about weaving in ends – the charming fringe takes care of that! Plus, our pattern comes with a handy guide for selecting yarns and transitioning between colors, empowering you to craft a unique fabric that rocks your woolly world, using your most treasured sock yarns, scraps, and mini skeins.

Of course, we encourage you to knit your style, so feel free to opt for more subdued, solid, or fewer colors if you prefer. Check out the gallery for plenty of knitspo!

New to Brioche? Fear not! We’ve designed this pattern with adventurous beginners in mind: the stitch pattern remains consistent throughout the shawl, and there’s only one type of increase and decrease to master.

You need approximately 1400 yards of yarn for the shawl. If you are coming to our Outdoor Sale on April 29th we will have lots and lots of hand dyed fingering weight yarn on sale for $20 a skein. Hedgehog discontinued colours, Uschitita, LITLG, Long Dog, Old Soul plus lots more. Grab some skeins to add to your stash and make the beautiful wrap.

I was supposed to be getting ready for LYS Day but instead I played with colours. These one of a kind kits are available online. They have 10 skeins of single ply fingering weight which is way more than enough for the wrap. It will get you almost three wraps or one wrap and a Stephen West Shawl and an Ambah Shawl. I wanted to give you enough colours. You can make the wrap with four skeins but you won’t have the beautiful colour variation. I priced the kits at $200 which is one heck of a deal.

When I chose the colours I was looking at the test shawl knit by valleyhiggs. It isn’t as colourful as some of the others which isn’t a bad thing.

Look at this combination. I am drooling. These are Theme Packs from Emma’s Yarns. Sailor’s Delight and On the Vine. Talk about a stunning shawl. I think I might need to make the shawl with these to wear to the yarn show I’m going to in June. It’s in Chicago so it can’t be anything too heavy. It is going to be hot out!!!

Have a good evening going through your stash to find yarn for the wrap. 😘
