Lynn has a new cowl. This is called Grid Gambit (pattern purchased on Ravelry).
Grid Gambit is a cowl worked flat beginning at one corner, shaped with increases and decreases, and seamed after blocking. The cowl features an allover mosaic pattern, built-in I-Cord edges and an I-Cord bind off.If you aren’t familiar with Mosaic knitting here is a quick breakdown
- You are only using one colour in a row
- For that row you could be knitting the whole row, purling the whole row, or working knit (purl) stitches and slip stitches.
- You want a contrast in the colours so that the pattern shows up
The main yarn is Rowan Felted Tweed - colour 226 and Lynn used 2 balls. The contrast is Edition 3 in colour 2471. Lynn used one ball but didn’t have any yarn left over.
The family made it home safely from the cottage. Beth said that dad and the dogs had tears in their eyes as the boat pulled away from the cottage. Now they have to wait until May to go back.
