These slipper socks knit up quick as a wink! Inspired by our Turkish Bed Socks, we aimed for easy, cozy, and comfy. The heel is nice and neat, while a slip-stitch edging around the ankle finesses the finish! In 2 gauges, 3 widths, and easy-to-customize lengths, you can knit pairs for all your friends and family.
Plush, chunky-weight Rowan Brushed Fleece yields a wonderfully snuggly pair of Cozy Slipper Socks. A super-soft blend of extra fine merino and baby alpaca, Brushed Fleece is warm and insulating, yet remarkably light. And all that plump fluff means you’ll have cuddly slippers in no time!
I think you could use Malabrigo Chunky or Malabrigo Mecha for the pattern.
There is also an aran weight version of the slipper socks that would work great with Malabrigo Rios.
Earlier this week I showed Stephen West’s new pattern called Awesomer Gossamer Shawl.
I put together 8 colours of Le Petit Silk & Lambswool that would make a great shawl.
- Dark Blue Black
- Dark Blue Turquoise
- Blue Green
- Soft Green
- Blue Grey
- Soft Blue Green
- Very Light Blue
- Soft Green Grey
Churchmouse Yarns used Rowan Kidsilk Haze for the scarf. Biches & Buches Le Petit Silk & Mohair is another option. Any combination of the 8 colours I showed above would make a beautiful scarf.
Have fun playing with color—glowing, silky soft Kidsilk Haze color! Watching what comes next is so much fun. For the scarf project, we mixed four solid colors—two at a time—to create shaded color blocking. Try mixing tonal colors for ombré shading, or cross the color wheel for graphic punch! It may be impossible to stop at just one scarf project.
Grab the pattern above and then choose your four-color combination. We've provided some of our favorite colorways, but there is no reason why you can't just travel on over to the Rowan Kidsilk Haze page to choose colors of your own. Catch you on the color side!
