Why should I have all the fun? Part 2 - Trine

Cheryl Faust has a new sweater pattern - her first sweater pattern. We know Cheryl because of her beautiful shawls. Now she has a beautiful sweater.

You can purchase the pattern on Ravelry.

Let me introduce my first sweater pattern, Tapestry.
Inspired by cherished fabric from the past …

CONSTRUCTION
Beginning at the neckline, Tapestry is worked seamlessly in the round from the top down. Just after the rolled collar, short rows are added to create a higher back neck and a stranded colorwork yoke is worked. Next, sleeve stitches are placed on hold and the body is worked, in the round. The cropped length body includes additional stranded colorwork just prior to working the ribbed hem. Sleeve stitches are then picked up and worked, in the round. The sleeves also include stranded colorwork before finishing with a ribbed cuff.

The colorwork pattern is charted only and my test knitters found the pattern to be appropriate for an adventurous beginner. Happy knitting!

This is Andrea Mowry’s Trinigan knit with Trine. You can purchase the pattern on Ravelry.

I often begin the design process by turning to my closet and looking for gaps in my wardrobe. For years I have been wanting a pull-on-over-anything jacket style cardigan with wide sleeves and easy worn-open style. But make it fashion - with a marled back drop and color changing mosaic colorwork!

This cardigan is knit from the bottom up, seamlessly except for underarms. The body and yoke are worked flat and the sleeves are picked up and knit in the round. The colorwork is achieved using the Mosaic knitting method.

This is Melancholia from Zanete Knits. You can purchase the pattern on Ravelry.

As knitting is a great way to sit still and connect with your inner self, it has always been my go-to when I need to process emotions. All, even the not-so-nice ones, are valid, and we need to experience them before moving on.

Melancholia sweater lets you create your own particular emotion sweater. It is a unique and beautiful knitting pattern you have never seen! If you’re looking for something special to knit this winter, look no further - the Melancholia Sweater Pattern is exactly what you need.

The asymmetric colourwork will add subtle sophistication to your wardrobe while allowing you to express your personality. No matter what colours you choose in this pattern, they will come together beautifully and make an eye-catching piece. Who knew truly unique designs could be so easy?

Meet Kate who is one of the owners of Spincycle Yarns. She is wearing Andrea Mowry’s Weekender knit in Trine. Kate knit the 3rd size.

Trine and Dream State are the same thickness so any pattern calling for Dream State can be knit in Trine.

Dad and Beth were up early watching the golf. Then a bit of fishing and back to the cottage. I’m not sure where dad is because this is his couch.
I was up way too early this morning to watch golf. I’m going to knit a few rows and head to bed. I finished my ribbing and I’m into the colours. I MUST GO TO BED! I CAN NOT STAY UP LATE KNITTING! 😀
