My Framed

This happened on Saturday evening. I’m knitting Andrea Mowry’s Framed. I’m using Biches & Buches Le Lambswool in Dark Green Grey and Grey Beige. My Dream State is Close Call. The pattern is very enjoyable. I love fair isle and the chart is easy to follow. There are only a few rows where you need to catch your floats. I need to finish a few more rows and then the pattern will really show up.

Yesterday was supposed to be a relaxing day of knitting and a bit of paperwork. Plans went out the window and I was dad’s driver for the day. It’s all good - Beth had work to do. After dinner we sat down to watch the swimming that we taped earlier in the day. I was able to knit but then I didn’t feel like writing a post. My fingers were flying and I was enjoying the pattern.

Stephen West has a new sock pattern that you can purchase on Ravelry. These are the Wooly Waffle Socks.
Choose three colors of fingering weight sock yarn and fade them together for this textured sock. This pattern is knit top-down with an easy-to-knit knit & purl motif. The instructions include notes to help you fade three colorways together, but feel free to use as many shades as you like. Video links are included to help you cast on, work the heel flap, and bind off with the Kitchener stitch technique. Enjoy this simple relaxing sock project as your beautiful hand-dyed colors shine!

I’m early tonight. Beth is doing errands and then bringing home dinner. I need to knit after we eat. I can’t stop!!

Oh So Soft

Brian Smith has a new pattern that he knit using 2 colours (1 skein each) of Hedgehog Fibres Oh So Fine. You can purchase the pattern for Persici on Ravelry.
Persici starts by knitting a half circle with yarn over increases. Then short rows are used to create sweeps of color in a twisted stitch pattern.

We have a shawl in the that was knit with Oh So Fine. The yarn is oh so soft.

Lynn is enjoying her time at the cottage. Her sweater is growing and looks amazing. She has another inch to work before casting off the bottom. The pattern is the Skylights Tee (purchased on Ravelry) and Lynn is using Silk Garden Sock - colour S1. She just started her third ball and will lots to finish.

There might have been some knitting by me on the weekend. It’s too early to share pictures - hopefully tomorrow. I’m going to get back to my project now.

Fading Colours

Marion Bullin (Mabuli Designs) has a new pattern that you can purchase on Ravelry.
NOLISPY is a variation of my „YPSILON“ shawl. YPSILON (which is the german word for the letter „Y“) was knit from the inside out with fading colours. NOLISPY – which is YPSILON read backwards – is worked the other way round => from the outside in stripes with a fluffy and a self-striping yarn.
Because of this you can make it your own size. You stop knitting sections 1 and 2 (which are the same) when your desired wingspan is reached. You can use any weight of yarn with any gauge.
For my original sample I used four balls of Schoppel Edition 3 and two skeins of Frida Fuchs Dufte Lace - appr. 600 m / 660 yards each.

The fluffy yarn that Marion used is the same base as Emma’s Suri Silk.

The boxes from Biches & Buches have been unpacked and the website is updated.

We used Le Petit Lambswool - 3 balls of Soft Gold and 2 balls of Dark Blue Black. Diana had very little left of the Dark Blue Black so if you are worried about running out I would suggest 3 and 3. The shawl is beautiful!

We finally have the colours of Le Petit Lambswool back in stock.

Kits for Yvonne MT are available online.

I went down another rabbit hole yesterday afternoon. Biches & Buches has updated their yarn photos so I started to update the website. Le Petit Lambswool is finished and now onto the rest.

I began my post yesterday afternoon but was tired when I got home. It was a great day in the store (thanks to everyone who visited) but I needed to sit, knit and watch the Olympics. Today was a lazy day. Watching the Olympics and knitting and having a nap. Now to order pizza for dinner (dad and Beth are still at the cottage and I don’t feel like cooking) and more knitting.

Woolly Waves

Stephen West has a new shawl pattern. This is always a great day for me because I have lots of pretty pictures for the blog. You can purchase the pattern for the Resplendence Shawl on Ravelry.
This large shawl is knitted with nine colors of fingering weight yarn and one lace weight mohair pop for the little eyelet stripes. The woolly waves are knitted with short rows to form the arched shape. Increases and decreases create undulating waves, resulting in a spectacular radiating effect. This project is so exciting to knit using your single skeins or leftover fingering weight yarns from other projects. The mohair contrast color adds a liquifying drape to the fabric and a subtle halo. Create your own unique color story and enjoy this magnificent Westknits shawl!

You won’t use full skeins for the shawl.

I went down the rabbit hole. I found more Rowan books to put on the sale page. Some of these weren’t on the website to begin with. A few are older and the yarns are discontinued but the patterns are amazing and you will be able to find a substitute.

The sale page is actually up to three sale pages and it could hit four by tomorrow.

Dad, Beth and the dogs are on their way to the cottage. They are probably coming home on Sunday so I’m staying home. I shouldn’t see this out loud but I’m looking forward to a few quiet days by myself.
