Stripes

I am in love with Stephen West’s newest shawl.

This fingering weight shawl is knit sideways starting at the little edge and increasing toward the wide edge. One main color is featured throughout all the garter stitch stripes. Eight contrast colors are used for painting the waves in stockinette stitch. The stitches are very easy to knit with I-cord edges framing the wavy triangular shape. This design is perfect for using mini skeins, leftover bits of fingering weight yarn, or self-striping yarns.

You can purchase the pattern on Stephen’s website.

I have colour combinations dancing in my head.
Fading Stripes is a new pattern from Hedgehog and you can download it for free on their website.

Easy, midless garter stitch shawl, suitable even for beginners. Just relax and knit a few rows, nothing difficult going on here. It’s done when you run out of yarn!

We have more minis coming from Hedgehog in our next order. Fingers crossed it will leave Ireland next week.

Someone is enjoying the warm evening.

Beth ordered new cake decorating tips and they arrived today which meant a new batch of cupcakes. This one turned out really well. There was/is a learning curve. It’s not as easy as it looks.

We still haven’t watched The Amazing Race from this week. And I still haven’t made it to the toe on my sock. I should accomplish two things tonight.😘
