Kaffe

Kaffe Fassett has an awesome sweater in the new Rowan magazine called Katja.
Knit this womens intarsia sweater from Rowan Knitting & Crochet Magazine 56, a design by Kaffe Fassett using the beautiful yarn Rowan Fine Tweed (100% wool). With a wide neck and drop shoulder, the yarn is used double throughout, this knitting pattern is for the intermediate knitter.
We haven't carried the Fine Tweed but I ordered the colours for this sweater this morning. We should have them next week and I will put them up on the website the minute they arrive.
Mr. UPS brought in a very special parcel this afternoon.
One ball of each of the new colours of Kidsilk Haze Stripe. These won't be available for sale until October but it's great to dream about which colours you will want to work with.

Now I need to decide which four I'm going to use for a Color Play Mohair Wrap. I have a few weeks for this because I need to finish two projects before the Knitters' Fair.
Just a reminder about the Knitters' Fair.

The Kitchener-Waterloo Knitters’ Fair is one of the largest all-knitting events in Canada. For many years, the Kitchener-Waterloo Knitters’ Guild has offered a one-day fair organized “by knitters for knitters.”This Fair, held at Kitchener Memorial Auditorium Complex in Kitchener, now presents approximately 50 vendorsoffering the latest and greatest of knitting products. Imagine two large rooms dedicated to craft of knitting, where you can see and feel the latest yarn, ogle the vibrant colours, visit with your friends, listen to some great speakers, and pamper yourself with a hand massage. We offer an incredible display of yarns in every colour, knitting books, patterns, and accessories. We also offer:
  • Low admission price
  • Fashion Show
  • Panel of Speakers
  • Door Prizes
  • Lunch Options

There were some problems last year with the Fair and we have been assured that this year will run much smoother. This is from the Knitters' Fair Committee
This year we are going to give the Aud another try, but we are fixing the capacity and food issues to make the space work. We are also working to improve communications between the Guild, our vendors, and our attendees. We now have a Facebook page (facebook.com/kwknittersguild), and a dedicated volunteer to keep everyone informed by Facebook, Twitter, Ravelry, and our website throughout the planning process and the event.
If you had a problem last year, please give the Fair another try. In my opinion, it's a day that you don't want to miss.
