Short Sleeves

Deidre picked up a new project today.

She is going to knit a Newleaf sample (pattern purchased on Ravelry) for the store. The Dyed in the Wool is Every Rose (the new colour) and the main colour is Le Petit Lambswool in Grey Beige. Our current store sample is long sleeves with a dark background so we wanted something to show a light background.

We are going to do short sleeves like Lynn’s.

Mr. UPS visited and brought three large boxes from Hedgehog.

Lynn is having fun filling the shelves and finding room for the extra stock. The website has been updated.
I showed Sara’s What the Fade?! a few months ago. Sara used Hedgehog Sock.
Quadruple your fading fun!! This shawl starts off with back to back fades thanks to beautiful, bouncy two color brioche! We then end with an epic band of all 6 colors faded together with some relaxing garter stitch! To celebrate this amazing fade, we’ll finish it off with faded tassels, and then wrap it around and wear it all year long! Included in the pattern are links to helpful video tutorials!
All the colours are here now. I brought skeins home for my stash. Just in case I run out of projects 😘

Rainbows

Mary finished her blanket and it is amazing. She is going to gift it to one of her children but I think she should be gifting it to me. 😘 Mary used 5 balls of Noro Ito - colour 32. She asked for a bright colour and this delivers.

Each mitered square of this bright blanket, worked in garter stitch, contains its own unique rainbow.

The pattern for the blanket is called To The Point and you can purchase it on Ravelry.

From Churchmouse Yarns

2022 marks Jimmy Beans’ 20th anniversary—and we’re so happy to celebrate with them! Churchmouse founder Kit and Laura, founder of Jimmy Beans, have long been friends, so Kit was delighted to gift her a celebratory riff on one of our favorite patterns! As she designed Jimmy’s Lucky Poncho, Kit took inspiration from our beloved Easy Folded and Jimmy Beans’ color wheel logo. Then, she got playful with random stripes, choosing colors and stripe widths by rolling a pair of dice. Allowing for this wonderful randomness, no two ponchos will ever be the same!

We knit Jimmy’s Lucky Poncho in ten, rainbow shades of Rowan Felted Tweed—but ten shades of your favorite, woolly light DK-weight yarn will do wonderfully!

I met Laura close to 20 years ago and am happy to call her my friend.

You can purchase the pattern on the Churchmouse website.

We just restocked Felted Tweed.

There will be more rainbows in the store tomorrow. Three huge boxes coming are from Hedgehog Fibres. We will be well stocked again.
Shift update.

Every Rose

Linda and Kerstin came in today wearing great cowls.

Kerstin (on the left) is wearing Isabell Kraemer’s Abulon (pattern purchased on Ravelry). Kerstin knit it in a discontinued sport weight. I would suggest tosh sport. Whiskers and Plunge or Whiskers and Undergrowth would be great combinations.

Linda is wearing her Shift. The colours are Overshadow, The Meadows and Truth Bomb.

Thank you ladies for sharing.
Mr. UPS delivered a box from Spincycle. This is Every Rose Dyed in the Wool.
Churchmouse Yarns designed a great cowl in Rowan Big Wool.

“A basketful of fun!”

For this free pattern, we took our inspiration from the wicker weave of a basket! A bit of ribbing, some slipping of stitches, and the choice of a super-chunky-weight yarn creates a fabric with great structure and very cuddly squish. A delight to make and a treat to wear, the slipped basket stitch is a great addition to any knitter’s repertoire—and to any knitter’s wardrobe!

The Slipped Basket Stitch Cowl is a fast, fun knit in Rowan Big Wool—a woolly mammoth of a yarn that makes any stitch pattern really pop! Spun from 100% merino wool, this yarn bulk belies an easy-to-work-with softy that knits up any project in a jiff. You’ll find that this cowl flies off your needles and around your neck in no time!

This is one of the brand new colours of Big Wool.

The pattern is free on the Churchmouse website. Just add the PDF to your cart and check out.

Project Bags

Mr. FedEx came today with a box from Della Q. We have new project bags.

These are Eden Pouches from the Linen Collection.

These are from The Cotton Collection.

We have the new Della Q Maker’s Scissor Pockets.
Cute and compact, the new Maker’s Scissor Pockets are the perfect addition to the della Q Canvas Collection. Made to match all current colors, except for Petal, our newest accessory comes in a V-shaped holder made of canvas and genuine leather, features an antique brass snap closure, and includes a pair of black scissors for easy, on the go making!
There are a few more bags to add but that will happen tomorrow. I need to finish a newsletter so it can go out in the morning.
These are the Zip + Mesh Collection.
The Mesh + Zip collection is a matching set of three nesting zipper pouches. Each bag has fabric on one side and mesh on the other. The sets include three pouches that nest perfectly inside one another to save space. The small size is great for notion storage while the large pouch is big enough for a small 1-3 skein project.

Small: 7.5" w x 5" h x 2.25" d
Large: 9.5" w x 6" h x 2.75" d
X-Large: 11" w x 8" h x 3.5" d
My Shift Cowl is growing.

We will continue to require that masks be worn for in store shopping. Thanks for helping to keep our community safe and healthy.

Curbside pick up is available. You can order online and we will bring your purchase out to your car.

Spice/Spark

It’s done and I wore it to work yesterday.

Beth clicked a few pictures before I left home yesterday morning. The pattern is a combination of Andrea Mowry’s Spark and Spice cardigans. I used Harrisville Highland with Spincycle Dream State in Shades of Earth.

I loved knitting the cardigan and should have finished it a long time ago. It has been sitting waiting to be cut for at least 6 months. Now it’s finished and I’ll be wearing it every day until it’s too warm 😘

Beth is putting together new patio furniture today.
I’m caught up. It looks like the temperature is going to drop this week and I will be back to turquoise.

Jackson could lay on the step at one time. He doesn’t fit anymore.

The boys say hi. This was yesterday morning while we were doing weather pictures. The ice is all gone now.
