We've been busy unpacking this morning.

Mr. Canada Post brought in two large boxes from Life in the Long Grass. Oh my goodness. The colours are so much better in person.

The colours are listed on the website and I'm working on getting the pictures loaded.

I didn't have time today to put together any combinations but will definitely do it in the morning.

Mr. Canpar brought in new needles from ChiaoGoo.

Our new TWIST "SHORTIES" interchangeable system containing both 2" and 3" (5cm & 8cm) tips allowing knitters to make short circulars 9" through 14" (23cm - 36cm) long, including differential circulars. 

12 different sets of stainless steel lace tips in sizes US0, 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5 and 3 (2, 2.25, 2.5, 2.75, 3 and 3.25mm) are included with the set. The tips are solid and have a tightening hole near the threads. The set will come in a compact, red nylon, zippered case as shown. It will also include a tip sleeve that securely holds all 12 sets of tips, end stoppers, stitch markers, a mini needle gauge (it's so cute!) and three different cable lengths.The cables included in this set are 5", 6" and 8" (13cm, 15cm & 30cm) long and are the same diameter as the current red MINI cables.

The needle sets are $140 and the packaging is so cute. It will take almost no room in your knitting bag.

Four more rows and I'll be starting the lace on colour four. It's totally different than my other Fading Point. I'm not sure which will be my favourite.

Autumn and Indigo

This was on Instagram over the weekend. All three colours will be coming in Single Sock (a single ply fingering weight). I can't wait. Claire's colours are to dye for :)

It was a day of errands. I started with a visit to Trish. Every morning for the past two weeks I have thought about cutting my own bangs. Then to the store to make sure all flowers were watered, onto the Meadowlands for gas, Harveys for a salad, Urban Barn, Walmart, Terra, Sobeys and home. I left at 9am and got home just after 4.

There are so many pretty baskets at Terra. I think that working at Terra is a lot like working in the yarn store - colour everywhere and a lot of happiness.

The fading has started into colour 4. I am on a roll and would love to keep knitting tonight. I've reconsidered because tomorrow is a work day so I'm going to put my needles down and head to bed.

Happy Birthday Dad

I made it outside for pictures just before the rain. I finished last night.

I really, really like how the colours came out. The shawl is totally different from any other in my wardrobe.

Today is dad's birthday so we had some family time. We took Lucy and Roko for an adventure this afternoon at the K9 Fun Zone in Caledonia. This is a salt water pool where the dogs can go dock jumping. It is around the corner from my dad's office and he kept saying that he wanted to take Lucy. Beth booked it last week and we had 30 minutes in the pool.

Roko had fun swimming. He didn't want to jump in off the end of the dock - he kept walking down the ramp. We'd get him out and then he'd turn around and go right back in. If he was a few years younger he would have loved running and jumping to get his frisbee.

Lucy will splash in any puddle she sees. She is in the pond all the time at doggy day care so we thought that she would have fun here. Not really. She only likes water when she can touch the bottom. And forget about dock jumping. She wouldn't have any of that.

 There is a huge fenced in area for the dogs to run.

Someone was so tired that she couldn't stand up any longer.

Dad and Lucy went home for a nap and are at our house now for steak dinner. What do he get for his birthday? Work pants. Work boots. An alarm clock. Barbecue utensils. He did well :)

Now a game of Five Crowns before my parents friend Bea comes over with ice cream cake. The day keeps getting better.

There was one bad moment in the day. I was knitting away on my other Fading Point. Between last night and this afternoon I had knit 8 rows. All 8 had to be pulled out. I thought I remembered the pattern so I didn't read it. Just started working. I was wrong. Now it's ripped out and I'm ready to go after cards.

Life in the Long Grass

Our order from Life in the Long Grass should be on the way to us this week. This is very exciting. I didn't think we were going to see it until July.

I am very excited. Caroline's colours are different from other dyers. Her muted tones are fabulous but I really can't wait to see Wild Rosebay. I'm already thinking of the Fading Point kits that we will be putting together.

It's the second intermission of the hockey game. By the end of the game my Fading Point will be finished. The ends will be sewn in and it will be blocked in time for me to take it to Cleveland. 

Quilting

I'm making notes for what I want need to buy at TNNA. Frabjous Fibers has new colours for their Cheshire Cat mini skein kits.

This is called Out of Print. I love it!

There are 5 skeins in the pack, each with 115m (128 yards). The yarn is 100% merino wool, fingering weight.

I have a list and I am sure that there will be more surprises at the show.

We've used the mini skeins for many projects but our favourite is Hitchhiker.

This is Cathy's. It is the perfect size. She used 3.5mm needles and one mini skein kit.

 We will have a new collection from Opal late next week. Meet Safari.

I stayed up a little later than I wanted last night because I couldn't stop. Then I was up early this morning thanks to the street sweeper. 6:45 might be a little early for that chore when it is so loud. One side is finished and the other will be completed over the weekend.

I went to the quilt show in Ancaster this morning. Wow. There were so many beautiful quilts on display which means that I have a lot of pictures for you.

The show is at the Ancaster Fairgrounds from 10-4 tomorrow.

I did a bit of shopping too.

The Red Red Bobbin in Brantford had a booth. Isn't this quilt done in Kaffe Fassett fabric awesome? I got some Tula Pink fabric that was missing from my collection.

Kallistiquilts had a booth as well. She has amazing Japanese fabrics. Both quilts were made with patterns from Janine Burke.

Now I am inspired. I might get the machine out on Monday.
