Finished Quill

Diana dropped by yesterday afternoon with Quill. The blanket/shawl is beautiful. You can purchase the pattern on Ravelry.

“This ethereal shawl or blanket is an homage to traditional hap shawls of the Shetland islands. These beautiful, utilitarian shawls were made and worn to protect the wearer from the harsh weather conditions of the Scottish Isles. The wavy lace motifs on the broad border were often used as a canvas for color experimentation (like our striped variations), but haps are equally stunning in a solid color, where natural shades of wool allow the delicate textures to shine. The pattern calls for fingering-weight yarn, but it can be upsized easily using sport, DK, or even worsted weight. Quill is the quintessential heirloom baby blanket, one that I’m proud to say has warmed many babies in the Flood family over the years!” — designer, Jared Flood

Please note: the stitch patterns used for this accessory may be worked from written or charted instructions.

We used 4 skeins of Emma’s Super Silky for the store sample which is the larger size. Any fingering weight yarn will work.

It was raining this morning so I took a few quick pictures outside. We’ll do better pictures the next time Lynn is in.

Things are gearing up for LYS Day. I received this in an email from Knitting Fever this morning. Purchase more than $50 of their yarns or needles on LYS Day and you can enter to win a set of Lykke needles.

What counts towards the $50?

    • Akari
    • Ito
  • Queensland Collection Kathmandu Aran
  • Juniper Moon Patagonia
  • All Lykke needles and hooks
In store or mail order purchases qualify.

I will be sharing more about LYS Day as it gets closer to the day.
I put my sleeve stitches on holders and I’m working down the body. I talked to Lynn this morning and she is 4” ahead of me. 😂. We’re watching The Fugitive and I’m knitting away.
