Here are pictures from Wednesday.
This was 5:53am on my way back from Starbucks. Our hotel was in a great location on the main street in Banff. I walked down to get a tea before 5:30 and I felt perfectly safe.6:23am
We saw Elk on our way to the train station. The Rocky Mountaineer is a well oiled machine. The bus picked us up at our hotel at 7am. We left our luggage in our room and it was trucked to Kamloops where it was waiting in our room for us.
Our seats. We were Gold Leaf so we sat upstairs and then went downstairs to eat.
We had a huge observation deck. I wanted a chair so I could sit out there.
This was looking out the upstairs front window. We had a clear view.
We’re getting ready to go through a tunnel.Dad and I on the observation deck.
Desert after lunch. They kept us well fed.
The stair case on the train is steep and circular. They have a lift and dad used it. It was so slow that I could get him on the lift, use the washroom and run up the stairs to meet him.
I didn’t knit much on the train because I was so busy taking pictures. We were almost in Kamloops when my ball fell apart and we had a mess. After trying to clean it up for about 15 minutes we cut the yarn.
By the time we got to our hotel in Kamloops it was almost 10pm. The trip doesn’t usually take that long but we got caught behind slower trains. Because of the timing they fed us dinner on the train. When we got to our hotel rooms we went right to sleep. There was no thought of blogging. We had to be in the lobby by 7am to picked up again.
I have lots of pictures from Thursday that I will share tomorrow. For some reason I was up before 6 this morning. I think it’s time for a nap.
Jackson is guarding my knitting.
