Flower Child

Wool & Pine has a new pattern.

With a lace yoke that blossoms as you go, a sweet picot collar, and bobbles like little flower buds, Flower Child brings a touch of vintage charm to your needles. Worked seamlessly in the round from the top down in fingering-weight yarn, it’s the kind of project you ease into and don’t want to put down.

Our samples were knit in Black Elephant Sock and Singles, and both yarns brought out something special in the lace. Singles, sock, gently speckled or solid—choose the yarn that lights up the lace and make it yours.

Construction Overview

Flower Child is knit seamlessly from the top down with a circular yoke. A delicate picot cast-on at the collar adds a vintage-inspired touch. The lace yoke features leafy eyelets and little bobble buds, worked with both written and charted instructions. After dividing for sleeves, the body is knit in the round in stockinette and finished with 1x1 ribbing and a sewn bind-off. Sleeves are picked up and worked in the round, with matching ribbing.

Top-down construction makes it easy to adjust the length of both the body and sleeves.

You can purchase the pattern for Flower Child on Ravelry.

The sweater is knit in fingering weight so you have many, many options. Don’t forget that their patterns are size inclusive going from a 32” bust to a 68” bust.

We washed dad’s bedding yesterday morning and then tried to put it on his bed. Three animals were very comfortable and they weren’t willing to move.

Please note that the store will be closed this Friday May 16th. I have a funeral to go to and Lynn isn’t available to work. She put in enough time over the past two weeks and now she is taking some time away.
