Brioripple Wrap

It’s always a great day when Stephen West has a new pattern. Lots of colour for the blog.

This is the Brioripple Wrap (pattern purchased on Ravelry).

The Brioripple Wrap features wavy bands of two-color brioche and reverse stockinette stripes. The background of each brioche section features two strands of West Wool Glowhair held together in the same color for a soft and fluffy effect. The foreground brioche colors and reverse stockinette stitch stripes are knitted with one strand of fingering weight wool. This project is a great stashbuster to use leftover fingering weight yarns or mini skeins.
Feel free to customize your brioche color combinations however you like as you create a uniquely striped fabric. The size of this wrap is easy to customize. Simply bind off early after any brioche section for a shorter length or continue to knit the wavy pattern repeats as recommended for a long dramatic wrap.

Stephen uses fingering weight yarn and mohair/silk blend. You can use all fingering weight if you’d like.

Lynn’s sweater is finished. The ends are sewn in and it’s blocked. The sweater looks amazing!!

This is the Cloud Sweater from PetiteKnit. Lynn used seven balls of Rowan Tweed Haze single strand.

Cloud Sweater is worked from the top down. First the back yoke is worked back and forth while short rows are worked to shape the shoulders. Then each shoulder is worked separately, back and forth and with short rows. The shoulders are then joined to form the front yoke. The front and back yoke are joined at the underarms to form the body, which is worked in the round on a circular needle. The sleeves are worked from stitches that are picked up and knitted along the armhole openings. The sleeves are worked in the round. At the end, the stockinette stitch funnel neckline is worked from stitches that are picked up and knitted along the neck opening.

Knit a swatch before beginning the project to check if the recommended needle size gives you the correct gauge.

You can purchase the pattern on Ravelry.

I’m ribbing. So far I have 5” done and I need to get to 7.5”. FYI I hate ribbing. I find it slow and can’t wait for it to be finished.
