I Love Yarn Day

Did you know that today is I Love Yarn Day? The Craft Yarn Council declared October 14 to be the day to show your love of yarn.

Whether you knit, crochet, craft or just adore fiber, October 14th is the day to affirm your passion for yarn.

My knitting last night went well. I didn't get as far as I had hoped but hopefully later this afternoon there will be enough for a picture. I am knitting with Asoletta-a new yarn from Filatura di Crosa.
This loopy bouclé yarn creates accessories and trims with plenty of impact. It's a "railroad track" yarn, so knitting into the edge keeps your needles from getting caught up in the loops.
The yarn comes in skeins and has to be rolled into a ball. The first ball kept twisting on me so I tried something new for ball two. I wanted to roll the ball onto an empty paper towel tube but we didn't have one so I used an empty toilet paper roll.

It's almost 11 so I had better think about getting dressed and heading to work. Lots has been accomplished this morning. I wrote two newsletters and a blog post for Beth. Beth left for work in jeans and a sweat shirt. I was jealous. Getting dressed up isn't calling to me this morning. I want the weather to get a bit colder so I can start pulling sweaters out of the closet.

Do you listen to knitting podcasts? There is a new one out there for you to check out. Karen and Maggie have started Knit1Geek 2. You can find it at knit1geek2.mt-pockets.org.

It is much later in the day-almost going home time. Good news for me. The store was very busy today and I got no knitting done. Bad news for me. I don't have a good picture of my knitting for you.

It is rainy outside so there is no sense taking my mannequin outside. These are a bit dark but I wanted to share.

Hopefully tomorrow there will be more accomplished so that I can get a better picture.

Big decision for me tonight. Do I get up at 3:30 to watch the Rugby? Semi finals. Very important. Wales and France. I will be getting up very early Sunday morning, 4am, to watch NZ play Australia. They hate each other and it should be a fantastic game. According to Oliver, NZ is going to win the game by 12. There will be many texts and phone calls between us and NZ Sunday morning.

Maggi just walked in and she always says 'Happy Friday' or 'Happy Saturday' as she comes in. I told her it was I Love Yarn Day and she proclaimed 'Every day is I Love Yarn Day!!!'

Happy I Love Yarn Day. Give your stash a hug!!
