New Colours

I was in the store this morning to ship orders when Mr. UPS came by with a great box from Spincycle.

We have 2 new colours of Dyed in the Wool.

Eleventh Hour. I’m home with the dogs tomorrow and will get the website updated.

Snow Cone

And some new colours of Dream State
House Blend

Something Wicked

New displays are being made in the store.

We had a great day yesterday. I hope everyone had a great Easter weekend.

The TV was hung on Saturday so the kids had somewhere to hang out. Beth and I were tired when everyone left - we relaxed and watched hockey. I knit a few rows. This afternoon I put on my cardigan and it needs 4 more inches. I’m going to do 2” in stocking stitch and then 2” of ribbing. I don’t want 4” of ribbing on the bottom of sweater - just my preference.

Now it’s time to get back to my cardigan. It will be a busy evening with hockey and baseball.

Lynn’s Love Note

Lynn was in the store with me today and wore her Love Note. I realized that I’ve never taken pictures of her in it.

Lynn used Biches & Buches Le Petit Lambswool and Le Petit Mohair.

We are going to put Malabrigo Mohair on sale for LYS Day. This would make a great Love Note

We’re on the final push to get everything ready for Easter dinner.

The front hallway finally has pictures hanging.
This is a picture from the front door. There is a room at the front of the house that could be a dining room or another living room. This is dad’s room. Doors are being made and should be here in a couple of weeks.
We have a large covered deck and the concrete floor was so dirty. Every time the dogs come in the house they have dirty feet. Dad’s job today was to power wash everything.

Happy Easter to you and your family. I don’t think there will be time to write tomorrow. By the time everyone leaves I’m going to be ready to sit, knit and watch hockey.

Comebackigan

I’m not finished my cardigan yet and Andrea Mowry brings out another beautiful cardigan. This is called Comebackigan and you can purchase the pattern on Ravelry.

When we decided to move back home to Michigan, I knew I wanted to celebrate by casting on a new homecoming cardigan. Pulling inspiration from my Oxbow Cardigan, I paired my favorite knit-purl texture with a Michigan-grown, milled, and dyed yarn, for a classic cardigan that has already jumped to the top of my most-worn list!

This cardigan is knit flat from the bottom up. You will begin with the pockets so that they can be used as your gauge swatch (directions on pg. 5)! The sleeves are knit in the round from the bottom up and joined to be worked together with the body for the yoke. The sweater is finished off with an applied, double-knit button band for a polished finish!

The cardigan is knit in sport weight yarn so I would suggest Juniper Moon Patagonia or The Fibre Co Aranmore Light.

Everyone loves a pattern sale. Here is a link to all of Annie’s patterns on Ravelry. The sale is running until the end of the month.
This is Annie’s Bookish Cardi that we knit in Arranmore Light. We knit our sample 2” longer than the pattern called for.

Here is a chart for the number of skeins. I see there is a typo and the smallest size should be 3 skeins.

We are going to put Noro Kureyon on sale for LYS Day - 25% off.
The online price will change once the sale starts on April 26th.

Now it’s time to try and knit for a while. My kettle is boiling and The Price is Right is on.

Sailoress Top

It’s always a good day when Joji Locatelli has a new pattern.

This is the Sailoress Top (pattern purchased on Ravelry).

There’s a quiet that settles just before the whirlwind. It feels like a soft breath, a pause, the hush of a heart gathering strength. I was in that moment when Sailoress was born.

A sleeveless summer top made for warm skies and salt-kissed breezes, it carries the lightness of stillness, the ease of open water. Simple, elegant and full of quiet grace, it’s what you reach for when everything is about to change, when the world asks you to step aboard, loosen the lines, and sail.

Mode at Rowan Cotton DK would be a great choice for this top. Again, please swatch - I think you will need a 4mm needle to get the required tension.

You can also double up a light fingering weight summer yarn to achieve the recommended gauge, or use a woolen yarn to make a great vest for the colder weather.

Mr. Canada Post brought in a big box of Opal this morning. All three collections are available online and in the store.

I moved around more garments.

Kits are moving too. While I’m moving the kits I’m making up more colourways.

There are new displays as well.

Lynn is coming in tomorrow. She has lots of yarn and needles to put away. I’m going to start printing price signs and garment labels to make shopping easier.

Now a bit of knitting.
