New Patterns

This is the Monticello Wrap from Blue Sky Fibers. The shawl is knit with Woolstok - 100% wool. You are using 2 colours with a Woolstok Bundle. This looks so cozy!!

This oversize wrap incorporates a variety of textures from ribbing, stockinette, garter, and lace, with pops of color at each end.

The pattern can be purchased on Ravelry.

Blue Sky had kits for the shawl but they are sold out already so I used skeins we had on the shelf to make kits. More stock will be coming in November if you miss out now.

See the different colourways I put together. You can also make your own combination. In Woolstok you need 9 skeins of one colour and 2 skeins of another. Then add in a Woolstok Bundle.

These are the colours that Blue Sky used. I have enough right now for one kit.

This is the 27 Color Cowl.
Using just one bundle and charts, this colorful cowl is knit in the round using stranded colorwork throughout.

The cowl is knit with the new Blue Sky Fibers Woolstok 27 Skein Bundle. The kit includes one mini skein of every colour of Woolstok.

You can purchase the pattern on Ravelry.

This is the 27 Color Neck Warmer. The pattern is also purchased on Ravelry.
This colorful tubular cowl is knit in the round using stranded colorwork throughout. Finished by grafting the ends together, with an optional twist.

Brian Smith has a new pattern that is knit with 3 balls of Lang Linello colour 54. What a great looking shawl. Linello is a Linen, Cotton and Viscose blend.

Simple increases, stocking stitch and an eyelet pattern are used to create this pretty crescent shape shawl. The border is worked sideways.

I’m early so that I can get home to my knitting and the Jays game. I hope the outcome is better today.

Rowan Felted Tweed

Kaffe Fassett designed 3 patterns for Rowan Felted Tweed colour.

The patterns are only available online. You can purchase the e-book on Ravelry.

Inspired by nature’s landscapes, the varying shades of Felted Tweed Colour are truly captivating to knit and crochet. From subtle moorland russets and browns, to vibrant sunset pinks and fresh, grassy greens, the tweedy hues gradually evolve along the fibres at a gentle and unhurried pace. A stunning fair isle effect is created by simply working with two shades, while the perfect combination of 50% lightly-felted wool, 25% viscose and 25% alpaca makes this yarn equally ideal for delicate lace and sumptuous cables.

A collection of four stylish classics from Quail Studio, using much-loved yarn Felted Tweed. With two key layering pieces, plus accessories, this collection ticks all the autumn winter boxes.

Ask any Rowan fan for their favourite yarn and there's a good chance it'll be Felted Tweed. Spun in a light DK weight, with a beautiful tweed effect and an amazing 50+ colours to choose from, it's a Fair Isle knitter's dream. But that's not all. The magical combination of 50% lightly-felted wool, 25% viscose and 25% alpaca makes it supremely blockable and a gorgeous option for lacework as a result. Or knit it in garter stitch for a drapey, squishable fabric that is cosy, but light and easy to wear. Choose from nature-inspired shades ranging from cool watery tones to warming cherry red and fiery ginger and prepare to fall in love! Now available in special colourways chosen by world-renowned designer Kaffe Fassett.

Blue Sky Fibers has a new hat pattern using Woolstok Bundles.

Aside from falling leaves every autumn, acorns cover the ground under oak trees. The Acorn Street Cap takes its motif from the colorful foliage and the tiny “nuts”.
Pattern uses one Fall Festival Bundle and one 50 gram hank of Woolstok.

You can purchase the pattern for the Acorn Street Cap on Ravelry.

Woolstok and Woolstok Bundles are available online and in the store. We just found out that the Blue Sky Fibers has sold out of the Fall Festival Bundles. After our stock is gone we won’t be able to get anymore until next fall.

I haven’t touched my knitting needles in days. I’m going to say goodnight and knit a few rows before bed.

Lynn and I had a crazy day today. Thanks to everyone who visited and did orders online. We were able to start opening the boxes from Rowan. We received some Felted Tweed, Felted Tweed Colour, Big Wool and Alpaca Classic. Big Wool and Alpaca Classic will be added to the website tomorrow. There are 4 boxes that we can’t unpack yet that are full of new Kidsilk Haze and new colours in existing yarns. Tomorrow we are going to find spots to put these yarns when they come out of their boxes next week.

Now a bit of time with my feet up before bed.

Organic Cotton Worsted

Yesterday we received a big restock of Organic Cotton Worsted from Blue Sky Fibers. Blue Sky recently released this great looking sweater pattern for the cotton.
Knit from the top-down in soft organic cotton, this beautiful sweater has subtle allover texture. Easily adjust both the body and sleeve length to your desired fit.

You can purchase the pattern for the Shady Hollow Sweater on Ravelry.

Environmentally friendly and naturally soft making it ideal for baby knits and your favorite sweater. A worsted two-ply yarn in a robust line of colors.

Perfect in any baby’s room—whether modern, retro, romantic, or eclectic—this wee patchwork ‘blankie’ will always be a beloved gift. It’s simply knit in garter stitch strips (totally beginner-worthy!) so it’s an easy project to tote along and straightforward to assemble.

This adorable baby blanket is plush and wonderfully soft in Blue Sky Fibers’ Organic Cotton Worsted. Cotton is soft by nature and this fiber lets all that natural softness bounce right through its loose, 2-ply twist. With a springy-ness that’s reminiscent of wool and a fantastic range of deeply saturated colors and artistic, printed speckles (Printed Organic Cotton Worsted!), it’s 100% certified organic cotton and environmentally friendly.

Churchmouse knit their Garter Blocks Baby Blanket with Organic Cotton Worsted. They also added in Printed Organic Cotton Worsted.

You can purchase the pattern on Churchmouse’s website.

We also received a restock of Lang Jawoll.

Jawoll - tried and tested a million times and for many years a sock wool classic - including reinforcement yarn for heels and toes to extend the life of your socks! LANGYARNS JAWOLL is the Rolls Royce of sockyarns. The wool is sourced from Corriedale sheep: for JAWOLL we only use wool of the finest provenance from Chilean Patagonia. During shearing the best parts of the fleece are selected and sorted out. The average thickness, the diameter of the fibre, is just 25 microns (1 micron = 1/1000 mm) so the wool feels very soft and is very comfortable to wear. The Corriedale sheep live all year round in the natural wilds of Patagonia. Because of the scant food supply, their wool remains white and grows to an average staple length of 10cm. This makes it take dye well, the colours are brilliant and the finished yarn is highly resistant to pilling (knot forming). In every 50g ball there is a spool of reinforcement yarn for knitting in to strengthen heels and toes. This will increase the lifespan of your socks. Due to the superior quality of the fibres JAWOLL is also excellent for baby or toddler knits and for men's knitwear.

Brian Smith has a new pattern on Ravelry that is knit with Crazy Zauberball. Knitting with a self-striping yarn is always fun. The shawl is a great shape. Diana needs a knitting project - I think I’ll play with colours tomorrow.

Worked sideways in stocking stitch, this design creates triangles that slowly grow in size. Using short rows to shape and add interest, with a garter ridge separating sections.

Brian used one ball of 2428 with two balls of 2429.

You can purchase the pattern for A Change of Scenery on Ravelry.

We made up some new kits for Andrea Mowry’s Inclinations Cowl this morning.

I was looking at some of the finished Ranunculus sweaters on Ravelry. I can’t show pictures but here are links to some that I like. You need to be signed into your Ravelry account to see these.

Knit in Zauberball Crazy Cotton - take a look at the bottom edging

I’m almost halfway through the increases on my Ranunculus. There was a bit of knitting last night during Survivor. Hockey is on and it’s time to move over to the knitting chair. I’m torn - Inclinations Cowl or Ranunculus???
