I don't know if there will be a post tomorrow. Lots of driving and then shopping when we get there. Nordstroms followed by dinner at The Cheesecake Factory.

Rearranging

Cathy was in the store on Friday and Saturday and did some nifty rearranging to give us empty shelves. Mrs. Crosby needed a home but before she could move in we had to move around other yarns. The before and after of her work. I was in the store at 8 this morning to start and then Kim finished when she came in.

This is the temporary display for Mrs. Crosby. When I get home next week there are plans but they will take a bit of work and moving and I didn't want to start before going.

Wannietta delivered Vodka Lemonade (pattern purchased on Ravelry) on Saturday morning. It is knit in Carpet Bag.

Now I need to start packing. There might be an emergency trip to the dry cleaners in the morning.

I almost hit Publish and then remembered something. The madelinetosh arrived today. It's in the store and we are working to get it on the shelves.

Classic Elite

There are some new samples that I will be hanging in the store tomorrow.
Wannietta knit this shawl in Cerro - a new yarn from Classic Elite.
Cerro is a blend of soft pima cotton and alpaca that creates a yarn with drape and excellent stitch definition.
The pattern is called Kalinda from the Classic Elite book Sunny Day.
A triangular shawl worked from the center top to long lower edge in a sampling of eyelet stitches.
Lynda knit this awesome shawl for me. I will be wearing this weekend at TNNA.

Pattern: Awelon Shawl (purchased on Ravelry)
Asymmetrical design that is flowing along the lower edge. The pattern was designed specifically for Sanibel’s unique blend of yarn.
Yarn: 9 balls of Classic Elite Sanibel
Sanibel is Classic Elite's fashion yarn: understated, feminine and chic, with a touch of glitz that makes a statement for both daytime and evening wear . The drape is alluring, the hand soft, and the palette sophisticated. Sanibel is perfect for anyone who wants a little excitement in their stash.

We're starting to think fall as well. Lynda knit this super soft wrap.

Pattern: Colorblock Bias Wrap (pattern purchased on Ravelry)
A boldly graphic wrap that’s as right for day as night. Scrunch it for a scarf or wear it wide for maximum impact.
Yarn: Classic Elite Chateau and Chalet
Chainette yarns are well-deserving of their popularity...the construction simultaneously provides strength and lightness. Add a luxury fiber blend of baby alpaca and bamboo to that inherent lightness and you have Chalet, a decadently soft yarn with a lovely drape in a chunky weight from our MountainTop Collection of yarns spun from natural, undyed fibers. Chateau is Chalet's colorful cousin, available in saturated, vibrant colors.
My knitting hit a set back last night. It is knit with two strands of yarn on larger needles for drape. It looks good but the sewing together doesn't. There are large gaps when I sewed the sleeves in. You can see these at the top of my seam. I've tried some different things and the only thing that I could come up with was to go back over the seam and catch it closed (happening at the bottom). I use the mattress stitch for my seams and it always looks good until this cardigan. Thoughts??
It's been a busy day. I brought the Mrs. Crosby yarn to the store this morning. Unfortunately the madelinetosh is sitting at the border. Hopefully it will be delivered tomorrow. My HST has been paid. Tax returns are done and will be printed this evening. Everything for The Quest is done. Now to start thinking about what clothes I'm taking to Indianapolis. It isn't going to be warm and it's supposed to rain all weekend. Good sweater weather :)

Happy Sunday

I was up early this morning - when you go to bed early that happens. There was lots to do today. Beth called me last night from the wedding (I couldn't make myself get dressed up to go) that she was leaving her truck there and getting a ride home. She had a really good time :) We had to drive past Stoney Creek to get it this morning. Then unload the van and truck, quickly count the yarn that was left, update the website, get more ordered and then a nap.

Now it's time to get onto my next project.
My CustomFit cardigan. We leave early Thursday morning for Indianapolis and no one is going to finish it for me. I need to have all the sewing done tonight so that I can start the front bands tomorrow.

Beth and I keep telling ourselves and each other that one more weekend and then we can rest.

I'm trying to talk her into a quick trip to Vegas in a few weeks. She isn't going for it right now. If I can't talk her into that then maybe Myrtle Beach.

Knitter's Frolic

We had a great day in Toronto today. The booth was busy and many people commented that they liked the trunks and suitcases. Mrs. Crosby was very well received. I thought we might have time to count the yarn and I could update the website but that didn't happen. I will try and get the done tomorrow.

A huge THANK YOU to the DKC and their amazing volunteers for putting on the show. You guys rock!

Mrs. Crosby's helpers. Thank you to Lynn, Kim and Sarah for their help and support. I also need to thank my parents, Beth and Cathy. The booth wouldn't/couldn't have come together without everyone's help.

Thank you to Mrs. Crosby for giving us awesome yarn!!

Friday Set Up

I'm home from Toronto and in my opinion the booth looks great
The first step is to bring everything in and throw it in the middle of the floor.
Things get moved around too. The arrivals sign will appear in a different spot in another picture.

Tomorrow morning we need to finish taking the yarn out of bags, put up garments and price signs.

Beth and I are finishing wedding stuff and then I'm off to bed. 4:30am comes early.

The colour is Hollywood Cerise.

I'm very anxious but I think we're ready to go. The question I keep asking is 'What did I forget?' but I can't figure out what it is.

To take my mind off of this Beth has me helping with her wedding speech. Their idea for having the bride and groom kiss has fallen through so we are making up a different game. Yes, we like games at my house.

Just as I was getting ready to leave the store a delivery man came in with something for me.
Mrs. Crosby sent me flowers. In an amazing vase. The card said
All the best darling. I hope your weekend is a grand adventure. Warmly Mrs. Crosby
Thank you Mrs. Crosby. They are beautiful! My kitchen smells wonderful.

OOPS

I did mean to post yesterday but things got away from me. There were some last minute details to work out before the Frolic
-my visit to the hair salon
-my nails (I have to look my best at the show)
-dealing with a shipment coming from Texas - more on that below
-ordering some booth decorations
-printing
-making kits

The shipment from Texas. More madelinetosh will be arriving at the storage unit on Monday. I'm going to say it will be Wednesday before we can get it to the store.

There's a brand new yarn.

With a generous 325 yards per skein, this fingering weight yarn is more than enough yardage to complete a pair of socks and two skeins can completed a full-sized lace project. This uniquely soft, fine linen blend is hand-dyed in small dye lots.
And lots of new colours.

I need to get my last minute chores done. If all goes well I will do another post tonight.
