Divide for sleeves

Wool & Pine has a stunning new pattern. This is the Hearthside Pullover (pattern purchased on Ravelry).

Hearthside is Here Hearthside Pullover and Hearthside Cardigan are 30% off through Monday, February 16 on woolandpine.com and Ravelry. no code needed.

Two silhouettes. One cozy, stash-loving family.

Hearthside Pullover is all about color, texture, and making the most of the yarn you already have. Knit seamlessly from the top down with thoughtful shaping throughout, this v-neck sweater pairs plush two color brioche with garter accents for a sweater that you’ll never want to take off.

Squishy like it’s cushy cardigan sibling, the pullover leans lighter and more tailored. The garter stitch accents at the hem, cuffs, and V neck are worked with two strands of fingering weight yarn held together, creating a fabric that feels wearable and balanced, while the brioche still brings that signature bounce and depth with marled strands for both the foreground and background colors.

The result is a pullover that feels easy to throw on with soft squishy structure thats surprisingly light on the body. Beautiful shaping for comfort and endless color play.

Why You Will Love It

  • Plush two color brioche with incredible depth and squish
  • Thoughtful shoulder and neckline shaping for a polished fit
  • Lighter garter accents for everyday wearability
  • Designed for stashbusting and marling different colors
  • Perfect for leftovers, minis, speckles, and sets
  • Video tutorials included for key techniques and color planning

Construction Overview

Hearthside Pullover is worked top down, beginning flat through the yoke and transitioning to working in the round for a seamless finish.

  • Back shoulders are worked first in garter stitch with German short rows to shape the shoulders and back neckline, flowing directly into two color brioche
  • Front shoulders are picked up from the cast on edge for added stability, shaped with short rows and increases for the V neckline
  • Front and back are joined at the underarm and the body is worked in the round in two color brioche
  • The body finishes with a tidy marled garter hem
  • Sleeve stitches are picked up around the armholes and worked in the round in two color brioche, gently shaped for a great fit and finished with two strand garter cuffs
  • The V neck collar is worked last in two strand garter stitch and features a clean folded detail for a tailored finish

Every step is designed to feel intentional, smooth, and satisfying on the needles.

Yarn & Color Play

Hearthside Pullover is designed for fingering weight yarn held double. Experiment with using different colors for each strand to blend your leftover yarn.

  • Brioche:
2 strands held together for the Foreground (FG)
2 strands held together for the Background (BG)
  • Garter stitch (hem, cuffs, collar):
    2 strands held together

Changing just one strand at a time allows colors to blend softly and organically across the fabric. Speckles and tonals create gentle fades and layered texture. Solids and high contrast variegated yarns will create stronger striping, which is also beautiful, just a different look. See our tester’s versions for tons of inspo!

This afternoon I separated my sleeves from the body. This picture was taken at 5pm. After making dinner, eating and cleaning the kitchen I knit more. While watching a movie I finished the next pattern repeat. Now a bit more knitting before bed.

New Accessories

We have brand new Cocoknits accessories. Meet the Notions Cup, Notions Dish and Notions Tray. These are available online and in the store.

These are magnetic and great for keeping your accessories organized beside your knitting chair.

Our magnetic Notions Tray is designed to keep tools and small accessories close by - like a YARN SNIP, TAPE MEASURE, or ROW COUNTER.  Whether you're knitting, crocheting, quilting, or looking for a cute desk organizer, this PLA tray will be your new favorite accessory. The sleek design securely holds your pins, paperclips, and stitch markers with its strong magnets. The sides prevent pencils from rolling off, while the pleasantly curved angle allows easy retrieval of stitch markers.

It is made of PLA (100% biodegradable plant fiber) and is petroleum plastic-free. Three embedded magnets keep your metal Cocoknits notions secure and can also hold the COCOKNITS NOTIONS DISH and COCOKNITS NOTIONS CUP (sold separately).

I didn’t take a set home for myself but will definitely get them when our next order arrives which should be before the end of the month. It’s already been placed with my supplier.

Last night.
Tonight.

It’s early to bed for me. We’ve been busy this week in the store (thank you to everyone who visited and bought online) and my body is begging for a good, long night of sleep.

Lynn’s New Shawl

Lynn finished her Jaunty and brought it in to show off. It looks amazing.

Pattern: Andrea Mowry’s Jaunty (purchased on Ravelry)

Colour: 2543 - we are out of this colour but an order has been placed and I hope to have more next week. Any colour of Starke 6 will make an amazing shawl

Needles: 3.75mm

Lynn made a mess unpacking boxes this morning.

Lots of yarn from Biches & Buches. I need to get it online - my job tomorrow morning. I’ve spent way too much on the website today and my eyes need a rest. We received a yarn that I’m not supposed to talk about until Monday. Since I play by the rules I won’t show it or put it online until then. It will go live at 12:01am on Monday - you’ll see it on the front page of the website.

Lang Cloud arrived today and it is on the website.

Dad and Beth just finished making banana muffins. Now it’s TV/knitting time.

Biches & Buches

Mr. FedEx brought in 2 huge boxes from Biches & Buches. I will get the website updated tomorrow.

There are lots of pretty colours of Le Petit Silk & Mohair including new ones.

I put my sweater on a more size appropriate mannequin in the store. I’m late writing tonight because I was knitting. The flower chart has been started. If I didn’t have to work tomorrow I would keep knitting tonight. In my younger days I could knit all night and get up to work but not anymore.

Have a good sleep - I’ll be dreaming about knitting.

Happy Camp Sweater Update

I took this picture last night before bed.
And here is my picture from today’s knitting. I’m on an increase row. Then there will be 3 rows of Spincycle before doing another flower chart. At this point I measure to see if my sweater is long enough to divide for the sleeves.

There hasn’t been much work the past few days. My list of things that didn’t get done. Maybe tomorrow.
  • Update the website
  • Place orders
  • Put yarn away in the store
  • Write a newsletter
I did get all the orders shipped yesterday and today so there are going to be some happy people receiving boxes over the next few days.

I think we might see the boxes from Biches & Buches tomorrow along with a few more boxes. That means no knitting in the store tomorrow.

Now a few more rows before bed.

New Project

Just Tone It is a free pattern from Susan Ashcroft. You can download the pattern on Ravelry.

Every time the Games are on, I release a freebie pattern for something that’s relaxing to make while watching the action. This is be this year’s freebie pattern. ____________________________________________

This is a relaxing to make double loop cowl using DK (or similar weight yarn) - the bias strip is knitted flat and then seamed.

Approximate size as written: 20 cm wide x 130 cm long (8” wide x 50” long)

This morning I tracked our boxes from Biches & Buches and they are finally in Mississauga. Hopefully this means that they will be delivered this week.

I started a new sweater yesterday afternoon. This is the Happy Camp Sweater by Brienne Moody. I’m using Dyed in the Wool (Bitter Pill) with Emma’s So Sporty (In Sheep’s Clothing and Hundred Ochre Wood).

I’m addicted. I didn’t have my Sunday afternoon nap so I could knit. The pattern repeat is easy and the chart is large and easy to follow.

You can purchase the pattern on Ravelry.

Now back to the football game. I hope the second half is more exciting.

Unpacking more boxes

Knitters like to know what other knitters are making. Right now the Killer Queen Cowl is very popular. The yarn is Malabrigo Rios which everyone loves to work with. The pattern is well written and easy to follow.

I took a break from rearranging the shelf and made new kits. These are available online and in the store.

A few more colours are in order now. As I was working on the wall Mr. FedEx showed up with 2 more huge boxes from Malabrigo.

  • Rios
  • Sock (many, many bags of sock)
  • Rasta
The boxes have been unpacked and the website is updated.

Late in the day a different FedEx driver came with a box full of Cocoknits accessories.
The new Fuzz Off Comb is in stock. Here is a link to all the Cocoknits Accessories on the website.

Colorful Stitch Stoppers are back in stock. These are the stitch stoppers that I use for my knitting.
Gray Maker’s Boards were in the order as well. We’ve been waiting for these.

Now it’s time for The Price is Right and then the opening ceremony for the Olympics. There could be a new project being cast on tonight.

Rios Restock

All the boxes from Malabrigo are unpacked and now I’m getting the shelves rearranged. This is a task and a half. At one time I had like colours together and then it all went crazy. I’m going to try and get this organized again. Things will be a mess for a few days.

The website has been updated.

Just before leaving I put a few greens in order.

We have a new yarn coming next week. Meet Cloud from Lang. In the first shipment we will receive 4 colours. More will be coming later in February.

When I look on Ravelry quite a few people have used Cloud to make the Cloud Sweater from PetiteKnit. Others have used it to make the Step By Step Sweater.

We’re watching the Price is Right and then a movie.
Yes the Price is Right is serious.
