Not going to make it

A few more rows and then I'm dividing for the sleeves. Lynn and I have come to the conclusion that we aren't going to make it. We are going to do short sleeves and then take out the cast off after Woodstock to make long sleeves. That might happen with the length of the body as well. 

I think we have decided on our sweater for the Knitters' Frolic in April. That gives us a bit more time to knit. We are going to make Love Note (pattern purchased on Ravelry). I can't share a picture yet - I'm waiting to hear back from Tin Can Knits with permission. The sweater is knit with a strand of fingering weight and a strand of lace weight mohair. I am going to use two yarns from Biches & Buches. Le Petit Lambswool and Le Petit Silk & Mohair. We have a few colours of Silk & Mohair in stock with more arriving next week.

This was the first class that Beth has ever taught. Needle Felting.

She was so impressed with her class. The started poking and two hours later had great finished projects.

Everyone received a 'mission' to perform over the weekend to earn tickets for special door prizes. Kelley's mission was to help clear tables after lunch. She did a great job. Anne was her server and loaned Kelley her apron which she wanted to keep.

The 'missions' are easy and no one is asked to do anything that they don't want to do. We happily switch out if needed. I'm not going to share the 'missions'. What happens at Camp stays at Camp but Kelley looked so cute in her apron. And she had so much fun doing it.

Back at Work

We had an amazing time at Camp with Laura Bryant. Her classes were awesome. She brought many garments for our fashion show. Here are a few.

This shawl is stunning!!! It is from Vogue Knitting and I am ordering yarn from Laura to make one for myself.

Laura is all about colour!

There were many Rowan garments too. In previous years I did a fashion show brochure that was printed and everyone could follow along. This year Laura brought her garments and I didn't know what was coming. That makes it harder to write a brochure so the models carried signs.

New shawl cuffs arrived while we were away and should be on the website this week.

While unpacking boxes we did some rearranging. Project bags from Zigzag Stitches. These are beautifully made in Ontario.

I'm early today. I did get a bit of knitting done last night and am ready to do more tonight. After the colourwork in the yoke there are more short rows. I finished those last night and now it's around and around until it's time for the armholes.

Lynn has separated for her sleeves. It looks great!

The Last Night

Yesterday afternoon we did some group shots. Comfort Fade Cardigans in very different colours. You can tell that we love Andrea Mowry patterns.

My students were hard at work. They did a great job with Colour Dominance.

The weekend has been great but I haven't knit a stitch. My Newleaf might become short sleeved. And cropped if I'm going to be wearing it in Woodstock. 

We have one more class in the morning. I will be teaching Brioche. Then we pack up and head home. The afternoon and evening will be spend with my feet up. If you don't see a blog post tomorrow I will share lots of pictures on Monday.

What happens at Camp...

We just got back to the room after the fashion show. It was a long one this year. Over 50 garments. We had a photographer and I will have pictures next week.

This morning I went for a walk and took pictures from around the resort.

I have taken a class with Laura Bryant and knew that she is an amazing teacher. The ladies found that out this morning.

Beth taught needle felting this morning. She took great pictures that I will share when we get home. The ladies jumped right in and 'poked, poked, poked' until they had finished their 3D felting projects.

There are no pictures from last night's game because what happens at Camp stays at Camp. I will tell you that there were a lot of laughs. Everyone had a great time.

Breakfast is at 8am and then I am teaching two classes tomorrow. I need some sleep.

Knitting Camp before the fun begins

We made it safely to Bayview-Wildwood for Camp. It rained lightly for most of the ride but thankfully it stopped when we arrived. It is definitely sweater weather!

We stopped at Webers on our way.

I've stayed in the same cabin for the past 25 years and it is newly renovated. Half the rooms at Bayview-Wildwood are finished and the rest will be ready for Camp in 2020.

The mini yarn shop is taking shape. Lynn will be bringing some more yarn tomorrow and we'll be ready.

Survivor is on and it's time for Tribal Council. I'll have more pictures tomorrow.
