Felted Tweed Soft

Another new yarn from Rowan for fall is called Alpaca Tweed Soft.

64% Wool
20% Nylon
8% Alpaca
8% Viscose

16 stitches and 24 rows = 4” on a 5.5mm needle
140m on a 50 gram ball

The yarn will knit to a heavy aran/light chunky weight but it isn’t heavy.

A few of the sweaters are knit top down which is relatively new for Rowan.

Top down.

This sweater is called Jupiter and is another pattern for Mode at Rowan Colourmix. Somehow it wasn’t in my shipment but you can purchase the pattern on Ravelry. This looks like a cozy sweater for today’s weather. It is cooler and rainy in Ancaster.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family. I’m writing early before heading home. Then I can put my feet up and knit. Or maybe have a nap.

Rowan has arrived.

Mr. FedEx finally delivered our boxes from Rowan. 11 today which makes a total of 16 boxes this week. We are well stocked!!

The boxes are emptied and yarn is scattered around the store. I’ll be here on Monday to try and find spots for it all.
Here are some photos from Rowan Magazine 78. This sweater is knit out of Kid Classic and I love the raglan shaping. We ordered in some Kid Classic and it is available online. Then I need to find where we hid the Kid Classic that is in the store.

Colourmix is a brand new yarn for fall. You can purchase it online or in the store.

Colourmix is a subtle blend of soft, muted colors balanced with a warm cream foundation. Crafted from a luxurious blend of alpaca, cotton, and wool, this sofilli yarn showcases MODE’s gentle color palette, which is seamlessly woven through cotton, creating a delicate mix of shades.
We have these leaflets in the store but they aren’t online yet. You can also purchase them on Ravelry.

This is Aries.

Alex was with me today and she worked on putting away our Emma’s shipment. We had a restock of
  • Practically Perfect Sock
  • Suri Silk
  • So Sporty
Now I need to get the yarn online. It’s not going to happen tonight though. Dinner is done and it’s movie time.

Classic Cables and Alpaca Sparkle

Tin Can Knits has a new pattern. This is called Bracken and you can purchase the pattern on Ravelry.

Bracken is the vest you’ve been waiting for! It combines our favourite classic cables, delicious texture, and a modern silhouette.

The vest is knit in worsted weight yarn. I think Cascade 220 or Cascade 220 Heathers would be a great yarn choice. The yarn is a bit firmer and will show the cables. The stitch definition will be impressive.

Mr. FedEx came with our second shipment from Rowan. Felted Tweed Soft and Alpaca Sparkle. We didn’t receive our full shipment of books - these are still sitting in Mississauga but we received enough books that I was able to ship out to everyone who ordered. UPS picked up the first set and then Dad drove the rest to the UPS store for me.

I believe we still have a few Alpaca Sparkle magazines (with more coming).

This collection of twelve designs by Lisa Richardson is perfect for those looking for a touch of elegance, timeless luxury and a hint of winter glamour. The yarn, Alpaca Sparkle is a perfect blend of warmth and sparkle and with this sophisticated yarn, we have created a range of garments and accessories to complement the beautiful yarn shades.

Alpaca Sparkle blends alpaca, wool and cotton with a hint of sparkle. The complementary coloured sequins ensure that just the right amount of subtle sparkle is achieved when they gently catch the light. A beautiful yarn which delivers warmth, softness and a touch of luxe.

The yarn and magazine are available online and in the store.

Last night was late - thankfully we won the game. I might knit a few rows and then to bed.
