White Lotus Tee

Annie Lupton (Boho Chic Fiber Co) has a new pattern and you can purchase it on Ravelry.

The White Lotus Tee is a boxy top perfect for mild, transitional months. The lace design depicts Lotus flowers and was inspired by the beautiful saying, “Out of the mud comes the lotus,” reminding us that through the endurance of hard times, growth and beauty can sprout. It features a simple drop shoulder, crew neckline, and short sleeves for a flattering fit. Knit up in Berry Meadow Farm’s Harriet yarn, a lovely wool farm yarn; it is a lightweight, comfortable top with a bohemian, feminine feel.

This pattern contains charts

Construction:
The body of the White Lotus Tee is knit in the round from the bottom up. The front and back are knit separately, flat, after dividing for the armholes. Stitches are picked up around the neckline and worked in the round. The shoulders are seamed, and the short sleeves are worked outward from the body in the round.

The sweater is knit in fingering weight yarn. Annie used a wool but I think you could also knit the sweater out of cotton. My suggestion would be Rowan Summerlite DK knit with 3.75mm needles. You should get the correct tension with this (remember it’s just a suggestion - you will need to do a tension swatch).

Dad’s birthday and Father’s Day gift. Beth and I seasoned it tonight and tomorrow we’re going to make smash burgers for dinner.
I made it to the garter stitch. Now I want to knit all night but it’s bed time. 6am comes early.

Washed Out

I was going through my Ravelry pattern library and saw Joji’s Washed Out. Here is my shawl that I knit with Emma’s Practically Perfect Sock.

This was a fun knit. Garter stitch, fading colours and a bit of lace. You can’t go wrong working any pattern from Joji.

Ice Ice Baby, Happily Ever After (2 skeins) and Lemongrass.
This is Kathy’s Washed Out. I went way back to find the pictures because it turned out so well. Kathy knit her shawl in Skinny Singles.

We have new interchangeable cords from KnitPro (Knitter’s Pride).

KnitPro’s smooth stainless steel swivel cables are designed for 360 degrees of rotation to avoid twisting. The memory-free cables are made with the finest grade stainless steel core and smooth nylon coating in two attractive shades of black and purple. Available in options from 20 cm to 126 cm, the cables come along with end caps and cable keys used for tightening the tips.

Ideal for convenient knitting for all project types, the snag-free cable works with all yarns, ensuring a smooth glide of stitches. The swivel cables work with all KnitPro interchangeable needles and Afghan/ Tunisian crochet hooks.

Packaging:

Set of 1 Cable, 2 End Caps & 1 Cable Key

These are available online and in the store.

I came across these photos from July 2023. Baby Fred.

He is the funniest dog. He sleeps with Beth and Jackson at night. When he comes downstairs he runs straight to dad and wakes him up. He has to say hi and make sure that dad is okay.

Dad and Beth had a safe trip. The dogs were good for me but I didn’t get a lot of knitting time. I vacuumed and then spent time washing the floors. Between Jackson’s hair and slobber the floors were a disaster.

I had a visit with Trish this evening to have my hair cut. Now it’s time to concentrate on the hockey game and get a few more rows knit.

1883

It was a beautiful day and I finally took pictures of my Traveler Shawl (pattern purchased on Ravelry) knit with Dyed in the Wool (Bamboloni). I used 5 skeins and knit with 3.75mm needles.

What the Fade?! I divided the stitches to show the shawl better. A few more repeats and then I’m knitting every row.
Beth was going to come to the store to do my planter box last week. It didn’t happen so I did it today.
This flower was to go in the planter box as well but there wasn’t enough room so I planted it in the garden.

We started watching 1883 tonight. We’ve watched Yellowstone so now we’re going back to the beginning. It’s hard to knit during the show because you need to watch the TV to keep track of the characters and what is happening.

Dad and Beth are off to Peterborough tomorrow for job meetings so I’m home with the dogs. It’s another early morning - they need to be out the door by 7am. I’ll have lots of knitting time. I also need to do some website updates because we received an order of KnitPro and Lantern Moon needles.

Happy Father’s Day

Tanis Lavallee has a new pattern coming out this week. Watch for it on Ravelry.

This beautiful summer tank is a dream to wear on a warm day. The lush texture adds interest and the gorgeous neckline really draws you in. This tank is knit from the top down with zero finishing.

The tank is knit in dk weight yarn so you have many, many yarn options.

We had a great day doing nothing but sitting in front of the tv watching the US Open. The perfect Father’s Day.

I was able to knit a lot.

I have 4 repeats to go and then I’m onto the garter stitch. I will take my shawl to the store tomorrow for better pictures by dividing the stitches onto two needles and putting the shawl on a mannequin.

Everyone had a lazy day.

Now a bit more TV (and a few more rows) before bed.

Fresher

Brian Smith has a new pattern knit with Hedgehog Fibres Oh So Fine.
This light as a feather shawl design uses three shades of fingering weight yarn to great effect. A modified feather and fan stitch pattern and increases down one side, create an interesting fun knit.

You can purchase the pattern for Fresher on Ravelry.

Here are some possible colour combinations for the shawl

Wildflower, Puppy Love, Orchid
Pet Rock, Plush, Heron
Sea Glass, Monet, Blue Lobster
Wildflower, Superbloom, Compote

Wow - the hockey game last night was awesome. Unfortunately it ended very late. I didn’t think I was going to make it to the end.
